66 Blm. Uber 1337 gear and super eliteist attitude.

got a cannon party in bibiki goin 63 63 64 65 66 Blm with a 65 brd.
I know he shouldn't have been there in the first place, but I didn't make the party.

This guy is a taru with 2 Genius Rings, Elemental Torque, Moldivite Earring, and the Body piece that gives you +5 to elemental and enfeebling magic(I forget the name). 2 lvls higher than all the Blm and is bitchin that he's doin more damage and it's getting him to much hate.

The things he said that pissed me off most were:

1. Trippy, you had better start paying attention, close attention.....
(this was in response to me casting on the wrong creature because I noticed one of the other players lost connection and was rushing to cast and type it out. I was the only Death in that incident.)

2. Do you all enjoy being mediocre at your jobs?
(he was the only one with an elemental torque, and also, someone hit 64 and didn't have a Blizzard 3 scroll on em. We got 30k xp in that party, I doubt they expected to hit 64.)

3. You are all a member of the same linkshell with that gay ass name lol.

So when his replacement arrives, he is afk at the time, I warp him, and we go on to gain mucho xp. He sends me a /tell and tells me how childish and immature I am, even tho I was nice enough to warp him instead of just lettin a gobby kill him. He poceeds to then tell me how much we all suck and how gay we are. I called him an ass and left it at that.

Anyone know this fucker?
 
well, I don't know about tat, but I do know he is an ass.

If the initial 5 AM spells didn't kill the monster, he refused to cast anything else because he would get hate.

we were fighting catoblebas at that lvl. 5 AM Spells will rarely EVER kill those.

We were also taking turns with Elemental Seal + Sleep II, he would continue to sit till the bard had the mob back at camp and was takin a beatin from it. Brds can't take much of a beating from catoplebas.
Flik Died more than once due to people not sleeping in time, granted, this wasn't just him doing this, but he was doing it to the point I thought he was afk a couple of times.

When the others did it, it was b/c they didn't have enuff MP to cast sleepII and then AM right after that. In which case... /ma Stun. But he didn't cast stun once the whole time. A couple of stuns can by some much needed time when you are waiting on someone to cast sleep.
 
I'ma be somewhat outa line here and say this .. anyone who disagrees well .. good on ya but i've been noticing it alot personally...

Just because he has nice gear doesn't mean he's a gilbuyer lol

And honestly, if someone in my party misscasted on the wrong mob, I'd surely say something too. But more than likely, I'd just make fun of you for it, not be name calling or anything.

But yeah, does seem like he had a crappy attitude, especially the linkshell comment? wtf is that? lol

Trippy did he finally get all the elemental staves because when i pted with him in the lvl 55 range he didnt believe in the elemental staves and he doesnt use food in pts cuz its a waste of money
 
Partied with this guy the other day. He was really, really good at his job...and a snob about it :? He was critical of the exp locations we were considering (boyada and rancor den), but was unwilling (or unable) to suggest anything else. He kept bragging while forming the party, talking about how he was one of the best blms in his lvl and did 100+ more dmg than other blms (he did 200-300 more per fight, but not per nuke). When we agreed on a party end time he starts complaining about being @2.8k. At the time we were already down to 5 members (1 had to leave), and another had work in 6 hours and hadn't slept yet. We had to fight with him for near on 5 mins to make him understand we could not stay for his lvl (we still went 15 mins over just for him). He then d2ed our whm who was going to look for a coffer and seemed rather reluctant to d2 me because I was leader and had made the call to quit. Good at his job, but his attitude blows. :?
 
I've manaburned with him twice. I respect him that he knows what the hell he's doing (unlike so many BLMs I seem to run into these days...), but he can get annoying sometimes. He could never bitch at me though, I was always doing 2nd best damage, and I was two levels under everybody. :wink:

Oh, and throw a full set of HQ Staves onto his "uber 1337" gear... He had those too. (I don't care what anyone says, having a full set of HQ Staves on your first job is just crazy)

Not directly saying he's a gil buyer, but to be that loaded on your first job, at just 66, seems sorta...uhm, suspicious. I mean unless he got really lucky/got his hand held in a bunchof god/HNM runs a LOT of times or just got a huge cut on the drops a couple times or something, I just don't see how he can have ~10m+ in gear by 66...I guess he coulda farmed a bloody ton or camped some expensive NM or might have a high craft or something, but in regards to the high craft, that's take ~10m+ as well..

In the end, don't really care. He sounds like a butthole, so yey him. And...uhm, just wondering, what's his race? Cause him doing 300 more in nukes per fight than most BLM doesn't really seem like it'd be that impressive if he was a Taru, whom already sorta do quite a bit more than other BLMs to begin with.. =P

Not really, just a dick. His equipment is pretty standard for a BLM to have. Is it a MUST for a BLM to have an elemental torque? It just depends on what lvl they are in relation to what they are fighting. If he is in a lvl 64-66pt fighting standard mobs for a 66, then he may not need it. If he is the lvl 64 in the party fighting standard mobs for a 66, then yes you would probably need it.


The body piece that he had was a rare/ex item called a Shamans Cloak. Although it is good in the 50 when you get it, it is not the absolute best choice in an XP party as you get similar stats in your AF hat alone that cannot be used now and something better can be used for body piece. This is not really 1337 gear for an xp party, he has overkilled his elmental magic skill+ which does jack shit if he isnt getting resisted anyway.

Even if he has all hq staves that doesn't make him a gill buyer. A totally pimped out blm at that lvl, averaging 2mil a HQ staff would still make around 20mil tops. This equates to maybe a month of camping argus (old days) or a couple months camping daegi.

Elemental torque is lvl 65. As far as a full set of HQ staves go, I didn't notice that, I never look at a mages weapon. Hq Staves are a waste of money for a Blm anyway. If he does indeed have a full set, then I would lean a bit more towards callin him a gilbuyer, but I don't really give a damn about people buying gil personally.

It just irks me to no end when one of these said gilbuyers wants to come at me tellin me I suck as a player b/c I don't have time to go farm all the gil he buys.

As far as him being good at his job goes...
not in this party he wasn't. He would cast AM and then sit there and do nothing else. He absolutly refused to help kill any mob that didn't die from the initial magic attacks.

We had about 15 deaths in the 3 hours he was there and 2 in the 3 hours after he left. He made the party suck while he was there. He isn't good at his job b/c he wants to not wear his Enmity- gear, then complain when he gets hate. What an ass.

WTF... are you saying this as a 60+ BLM? 15% damage boost are a waste of money? What do you spend all your gil on, windurst/zircon ring and a nifty wand?
