I'm sayin when I could pay 200k and get 10, payin 1.5 mil for an extra 5% is a waste of money.

I wouldn't call it a waste if a BLM had the +1 versions (since 5% does add up), but I would find it odd if they had those and not, say, Penitent's Rope (or, depending on their race, the RSE rope)
 
lol this guy is on my "DO not Invite" list. I invited him 2 times into a xp party for my PLD.
hes got a terrible attitude in a pt twords other people or to playing to the benifit of the group.
I bet he fits right into a cannon/burn party just fine, but stick him into a standard pld, whm, rdm, blm, melee, melee party and this is his approach:

mob pulled > goes from full to 1/4 MP before the mob is 1/2 dead, i use all my JA's keeping him alive leaving nothing staggered for the rest of the next fight or 2 > next mob pulled hes resting to full mp, tosses a nuke or 2 out near the end > mob 3 once again leads with some heavy nuke before ive got more hate than a voke, back to 1/4 MP in a few seconds.

asked him to tone it down, and he complained that he needed to get hit so he could cast drain....he was asked WHY he needed to cast drain, the reply was it did 100+ damage for little mp.

mmm, yeah, so probably a great blm for a cannon. Just didnt seem like he could adjust his mentality on blm for different setups. Top that with an all around bad attitude and he got a vaunted slot on my "No fuggin way not him again" list.

yea he's a gilbuyer.
 
and to prove i am right....
he was casting Bio about 3-5 times per fight... like.. Bio > Aero > Bio > Bio > Blizzard, etc... but never Drain, so no he wasnt lvling his dark magic.
he never had ANY mp left after every single mob.
died like 3 or 4 times for the hour or 2 we were there
tried to be all l337 but i shut him the fuck up
macroed every spell like
"Eat Bio you fucking wh0re!"
or
"(insert your degrading remark when casting spell here)"

btw those were in /say too. . . my pt had to blist him for a while lol...
 
I would think everyone in the area would b-list the guy for that -.-

but he could still be lvling his dark magic... I've meet quite a few blms or drks that feel the powerful need to cast bio over dia just to lvl their dark magic. whereas I use drain/aspir :P

I would be careful about the tendency to label anyone with good gear a gil buyer. Some people work harder than others. I know I don't work nearly hard enough (darn my set of normal quality staves and normal quality rings...). The only real problem here should be the sour personality. I do agree the comments were uncalled for. The only comment even close to excusable was the calling out on attacking the wrong mob. Granted, it's better to just let it go (mistakes happen - I've made them), but some people can't do that. The comment about the linkshell name was uncalled for. I don't think it's a bad name at all. The above average gear should be posted on "Good Times".
 
well... lets restate the facts

Fact #1: he's always had all the HQs (i.e. Morion Earring+1 was i believe 2million at the time?)
Fact #2: blm was his main job
Fact #3: the gear he had on at the time was worth over 6million, yet he didn't know wtf a magic burst was, what magic the mob was weak to, how to conserve MP, or why macroing your spell with a /say command was annoying as fuck, especially when every one of your /say lines were degrading women.
Fact #4: I'm sober now :D (just woke up)

I forgot who else was in my party at the time... but if they remember this guy in garliage shitadel, they'd vouch for me :twisted:
 
I remember partying with this guy in Kings tomb a while back and I do remmeber his attitide kinda pissed me off. He was trying to get his dark skill up so he would nuke the hell outta the mob for hate then he could drain when he took a little damage. He was getting soooo pissed at me cause I kept healing him when he got in the red. I finally said screw it and refused to heal him if he kept getting pissed about it. He died twice I think that night.

He doesn't camp NMs, and btw BLM who have that gear and say they camp NMs are full of shit. TH1 will not get you that type of gil on your first job unless he has a THF character or some type of buddy who lets him borrow a THF character to farm with.

BLM should'nt be camping NMs in the first place, if they do I guarantee they are getting shit for drops unless they are at a certain NM for months at a time which this guy most certainly is not.

Tiya and Decidence were the only BLMs that had sick fucking gear like this but were legit campers of Argus as they both had TH2 with them at all times.
 
There's no excuse for being an ass. That alone put him on my Do Not Party list, and i don't intend to repeat it.

I partied with Moch in that garliage party he hated so much (i was levelling blm at the time) and it's never easy seeing someone with +40? INT at that level brag about being the best. The only way i was able to do more damage than him was by catching the MB's (since he didn't lol), and it was even harder because i had somewhat cheap gear for blm on (rushed invite lol). I had to teach him how to MB, just so he could help the party out more.

I was REALLY suprised that someone could get to lvl 32/33 blm and not know how to MB, even more so because of the gear he had on. I mean if he was a blm who used lvl 1 gear at that level, at least i could expect it, but come on :? I don't think he had rich friends, or they'd at least teach him the how's of things. (gilbuyer anyone?)

I agree though, i don't care if he's a gilbuyer, as long as he:
1) doesn't gloat over his gear's uberness/money
2) is a fun person to exp with

just my two cents ^^;
 
Good gear doesn't mean a person buys gil. Although if what Mokk says is true I can see it then. Mages aren't that good at farming that early on. Hell THIEVES aren't that good at farming that early on. :lol:
