Anyone hear about the allegations that Bear Grylls and his camera crew were staying the night (while he was supposededly staying out in the wilderness) at 4 star hotels?

Realistically, you have to realize that in both shows, there's a crew nearby at all times. They couldn't make the show otherwise, since nobody would insure them if they genuinely dropped their host into a live or die situation on a regular basis. There are acceptable levels of risk they're willing to tolerate, but to think that these guys are really dropped out in the back of beyond with nothing but their wits and a camera(man) is bloody naiive.

Honestly, look at it as a learning experience. If one of you get stuck out in the wild, you'll know what to do. So what if the guy stays in a hotel. So what if it's not 100% real. I'd wear underwear on my head and drink my own urine if I wanted to survive the Australian outback, but I really wouldn't know what to do if I didn't watch that episode.

Then again I'm also a firm believer in "don't do stupid things." So I dunno how much I need to worry.
