Get invited to a pt on my 29NIN. Im down with it, friend Zimm is in it and setup is good. NINx2, RNG, DRG, BRD, WHM. And the other NIN was PLin on 2nd account. All went well untill i noticed the RNG was not using Ranged Attacks. here is how the convo goes.

Kelyon: Manic... there a reason your not using ranged attacks?
no response
Kelton: Manic, use your bow, your a RNG its kinda te job...
Manicmaster: I oly hav 10 arrorws left. no gil to buy more.

Mind you he was in shitty gear with no +RACC what so ever.

At this point idk what to do or say. I talk with the leader and he asks Manic to buy some arrows.

Manicmaster: I got no gil.
Leader: Then you need to go farm
Manicmaster: I will once i level

after 15 secs of just wtf who knows

Kelyon: No you do that now.
Leader D2's him and he is chillin Kazham LFP...and not farming


Its really sad that people dont even have fucking arrows to play RNG. Its a money job, farm and play it right. Christ what a waste. It just saddens me that he was able to make it to lv 29 w/o /NIN or any gear... whatever just venting.

Lol newbs don't care. Simple as that. They don't care if they are gimp. He is lazy I would suggest finding the leader that invites him next be like your RNG has no arrows he was in my pt earlier and only melee'd with out using his bow/xbow. Bows and bolts aren't that expensive at that level. Level WW so you can make your own arrows to the point you are making arrows that are satisfactory for leveling.
 
most of the new players dont know what they are getting themselves into when they pick a job. Ignorance is bliss i suppose, but I wish SE could direct new players to the information sites available before they start. I believe in feeling your way around to learn a new game, but this game has so many moments where you are given a task and you are pointed in no direction at all.

Point these ppl to the intarweb

My advice to Manicmaster, this is a cooperation based game, if you are knowingly neglecting your job in a party, then you aren't cooperating.
 
How did the leader D2 him in a level 29~ party? That's the real mystery.
 
I was gonna ask the same thing, lol. Did the pt leader walk back to town, swap to blm, come back and d2 him?
 
If I were to guess I'd say the magical D2 came from their Party's PLVL who was most likely a blm ;)
 
/sigh. The leader was playin 2 chars. he dropped party, i invited his (was 75BLM) and he D2'd the RNG. Mystery solved scooby.

Hate to be such a nerd, but according to ffxiah, he's virtually never hit the AH in his entire life (though his first and second sale have an enormous time gap, which may suggest the guy's originally a mule?)

All the same, he appears to be a gun RNG - I'd not-blame him since bullets are expensive but it seems he hasn't put in much effort at all (that and gun at that level seems sortof counter-productive to begin with...). I'm surprised he even got a normal job to L30 to unlock RNG.

But as I said, it could have originally been a mule character. But if the guy needed a mule that'd probably tell you he has a lot of spare gear/money and thus shouldn't have crappy gear or lack money for ammo to begin with. So one really can't say.
 
I took a look at ffxiah myself, and wow... just wow.

Fang Arrow x99. This is one stack of level 15 arrows, which cannot be bought from an NPC. So he's either always on melee, or uses wooden arrows which are 300g a stack at the NPC. I'm leaning toward always melee considering the story.

The mule theory seems probable. There is only one ranged weapon in his history, but 3 types of ammunition. I really hope he didn't buy his box/xbow at an NPC ><

lol Can't help but laugh at the new age newbies that manage to annoy anyone of quality from continuing to play this game.
 
Rappa and I had a NIN "tank" in Kuftal that only used Utsu, nothing else. Couldn't hold hate off anything, even the BRD (me).
