From the patch notes (see http://www.playonline.com/comnewsus/040629fg5rh3.html for the details) we know a few things about the mannequins: "Mannequins are now available to display equipment in players' Mog Houses. There are eight types of mannequins, one for each race and sex. The mannequin's face cannot be chosen. Also, mannequins are not limited to job restrictions. Almost any combination of equipment is possible." We also know that, "A quest to obtain the new "mannequin" furnishing has been implemented." From the item files that have been updated, here's a bit more info to speculate about.

There are five rare items in the data files that presumably make up the parts of the mannequin. They are:

Mannequin Head (rare): The wooden head of a display mannequin.
Mannequin Body (rare): The wooden body of a display mannequin.
Mannequin Hands (rare): The wooden hands of a display mannequin.
Mannequin Legs (rare): The wooden legs of a display mannequin.
Mannequin Feet (rare): The wooden feet of a display mannequin.

Presumably you go out and get those, and once they're combined, they make up the actual mannequin. The mannequins are all rare/ex and furnishing items, to be placed as a furnishing in your Moogle House just like any other. They look like:

Hume M Mannequin (rare/ex): Armor and clothing can be displayed on this life-sized replica of a Hume male.
Hume F Mannequin (rare/ex): Armor and clothing can be displayed on this life-sized replica of a Hume female.
Elvaan M Mannequin (rare/ex): Armor and clothing can be displayed on this life-sized replica of an Elvaan male.
Elvaan F Mannequin (rare/ex): Armor and clothing can be displayed on this life-sized replica of an Elvaan female.
Tarutaru M Mannequin (rare/ex): Armor and clothing can be displayed on this life-sized replica of a Tarutaru male.
Tarutaru F Mannequin (rare/ex): Armor and clothing can be displayed on this life-sized replica of a Tarutaru female.
Mithra Mannequin (rare/ex): Armor and clothing can be displayed on this life-sized replica of a Mithra.
Galka Mannequin (rare/ex): Armor and clothing can be displayed on this life-sized replica of a Galka.

Enjoy!

I was hoping that the mannequin would take 1 safe spot and give 5 storage (enough for a set of armor). If it's 5 individual pieces than it'll be worthless to me. The armor will be considered in storage meaning I'd have to go back home to pick it up if I needed it in Jeuno or another city. =\ We'll see what happens.

Humm...something to stare at while I set alone in my mog house waiting for invites.

But if it doesn't provide for more space for extra equipment then I'm all for it.
