I just found this yesterday and thought it was hilarious. Here is the summary of what you will see.

The issue of cults linked to the martial arts is one that crops up fairly frequently. It has arisen anew recently with the very public debunking of claims made by a group called Yellow Bamboo. Among other claims made by this group were that they could create a kind of chi forcefield that would prevent an attacker from being able to contact them, and that they could knock people down without touching them. Both claims were firmly proven to be false when tested. Video can be found here.

Yeah, BS like that is always just a marketing ploy employed by what my friend Jeff refers to as "belt factories"- karate schools interetsted only in attracting students for the money they bring in, not because they want to actually teach anything worthwhile.

I tend to trust him in matters like this. Jeff is a 3rd degree Black Belt and Sensei in Shokkido karate, and teaches at a school in Chicago. When he's not teaching, he likes to go to some of the tournaments- not because he wants to win trophies, but because he likes to debunk all these people who claim their fighting style is the shizznit and can take down anyone. :roll:
 
Yeah.... I don't know what to make of this....

I mean, it's just a bunch of people running in each other and obviously have some stress related problem (you can tell with the shaking).

I don't know if I should laugh or pity them....
 
We always called them McDojo's. I personally was laughing my ass off when I saw the "Shaking Kata". I mean he was obviously building up so much internal chi that it was ready to burst out from every possible point of his being.

Anyways I was glad to see that he was able to put up his chi barrier to stop that rear naked choke from making him passout. I was a little worried there. :P
