Wewt, official word .. finally. If i'm late on the uptake, sue me.

On a sad note for me personally .. Vista/360 onry ><

S'pose i'll either be owning or upgrading by release on this. <.<

In other, somewhat related news, Jim Lee is signed on for the SOE/DC venture in to the MMO genre ... but for me it's kind of hard to get excited about.. not a big DC guy, even less of a SOE fan.

Awesome. I have a feeling this is just going to end up a fancier CoH, but I like CoH, so I don't mind.

LFG need 13 members to take down Thanos, his Infinity Gauntlet has a 2% drop rate, only mutants may lot on it =P

Anyway, Cryptic is behind it, guys who did City of Heroes/Villains, so it shows some promise. It'll probably be fun for a few months, but I don't know if it'll have long lasting appeal.

Although it would be amazing if they integrate current/past story arcs into the game itself. Imagine patches that deal with Civil War, Infinity Gauntlet, Onslaught, House of M, etc. Now that would be one hell of a game, the Marvel Universe has tons of storylines they could pull for patches and expansions, so hopefully Cryptic will take that approach.

I can only take CoH at small stretches, door mission games wear me out pretty quickly. I did, however, still fall in love with the game. Much like the matrix ... in principle. I really have some high hopes for both of these games in all honesty but i'm very wary of DC's endeavours.

Either way it's going to take some sit-down-and-play time before i'm sold on either one. WoW's definately going to take a backseat if they manage either of these MMOs well enough.

Yeah, the potential for a truly amazing experience is there, but it depends on the execution. Hell, Star Wars Galaxies sounds amazing on paper, but I tried that game for 3 months and hated it afterwards, so now I'm more wary about MMO games. Same thing with Matrix Online, luckily I read reviews before I had a choice of buying it, I passed after the abysmal comments about it.

Yeah, I'm the same way with CoH. Every few months I'll reactivate my account, make a few characters, and putz around for a month or so. I think I would like it a lot more if I had someone to play with, instead of always soloing or partying with a group of people I don't know.

maaan i saw this hoping for new news, all this is from like september 06 at the X06 show. No word since then sadly >.<

I'm very interested in how the combat system (/sigh ... the matrix had such a good idea..) and the power sets are going to work.

If i can't swing around town via grappling hook or power set i'm going to be a sad panda.

Sucks, i know. But look at it this way; Word was they werent' saying anything at all about it until 07 at the least. I figure we'll get a release date out of them by september this year.

Sounds interesting. The first thing that came to mind would be all the XxWolverinexX characters running about. <_<;

If the MMO goes through, maybe we will see some future screens and such.

Bleh, so many companies making bad decisions these days.

LMAO

I'm making a static to beat the GALACTUS Expansion so I can go to outer-space. Btw, do you think that by lvl 25 Spiderman will have the Web Swing ability?

Nah, 25 is Spider-sense, improves evasion, 35 is Web Swing, AOE attack.

They need to nerf Wolverine, high defense, health regen, plus requires almost no gear thanks to Adamantium skeleton, way too overpowered.

Back on a serious note though, one thing I would love to see is allowing people to be reserve members for a specific Marvel team, kinda like FFXI picks different nations at the start. You could sign up for the Avengers for certain perks, or the X-men, Exiles, etc. Your only limited to one choice at a time, but each one brings its own unique benefits and requirements, I think it could work well.

I'm also wondering if you can make your own origin story, I could only imagine some of the hilarious stories people would come up with.

lol I was thinking of Wolverine's regen too. 50hp tick per 3 seconds (at lvl 75 I mean)?

I was thinking the same thing but more faction based. Should be interesting to watch develope once they start putting some press on it.

If CoH is any indication the character creation will be exceptional and the origins are well .. on you if you feel like putting it in there. Interestingly enough there are some big changes hitting CoH sometime soon .. crafting and some other crap, i thumbed it. Given the low server populations i can definately see them testing ideas out on an already live game.

I doubt they're fooling themselves in to believing CoH will survive the Marvel and DC launches. Might as well make use of what time they have left.

I would assume that power sets will be somewhat more vague than being able to carbon copy your favorite superhero. I would hope so anyway. I figure the licenced characters will be your quest NPCs and whatnot.

Come to think of it it wouldn't be too hard to have some kind of marvel universe event to explain the appearance of eleventy billion new superheros.

Does wanting to roll Krull make me a bad person?
