Marvel Universe online Cancelled, And shane kim leaving MS

I know Too Human was having problems with the Epic engine and all, but they already scrapped that engine in 06 and made a new engine and completed all development stages of the game. I thought they were in like an alpha/beta stage pretty much.

Nope, if this were the case, they wouldn't be battling Epic in court. They'd be happily usin' their new engine to complete a game instead of blaming the uncomplete game on Epic.

Oh, well I thought they were just still pissed because the Epic engine was supposed to be ready for their E3 06 showing but it wasn't fully capable at the time. Silicon Knights got mad, blamed Epic and sued them, but have already moved on with the game.

Well I guess if you what you're saying is right, then maybe it is Too Human that is being canned. Funny since that game has been in talks since 99 for being released on the N64.

The Two Human people did make their own engine for their game due to Epic not delivering on time, but they are still taking Epic to court over the matter.

Thought so. They just had a playable version for some reviewers not long ago. Pretty much the whole game. You could also tell it wasn't the Epic engine. They think the showing of Epic's Engine back in 06 will hurt their future sales, thats why they have taken Epic to court.

They -TOOK- Epic to court over lack of support, etc. for UE3. Not some hippy reason. They're Canadians, I know, but they don't like blowing money on nothing.

Epic is now owning them in court, in a new case, brought on by Epic for SK's "new engine" that, in essence, is not new. It's UE3, cracked, until a judge says otherwise.

I don't doubt the game is near done, hell, they've had plenty of time to work on it, since the PS1. However, I highly doubt all of their idiocy lately is worth the costs of carrying them any further.

Heh, didn't hear about the new case. Too Bad for Too Human.

Yeah, Epic took a peek at their "new engine" and didn't like what they saw. There is an article about it with Mark Reign in a recent GI.

After this month's issue of GI, I guess I have to assume that Too Human will still be coming to the Xbox. For starters, the game is completely done. They are just polishing it. They even said in the article that they have started on the other two games in the trilogy.

Too Human is completely done? Why is the release date so far off then? lol

Haha no idea, doesnt even come out til spring of next year. Like I said, I guess polish since it was a rush to build a new engine? After watching videos and what people had to say once they played it, I'm pretty excited about it.

They all say the game has way more substance then they thought. They were expecting it to be a loot/slash game like Diablo, Titan Quest etc. Well the only it has in common with those is the loot that drops off every enemy. Other then that, the game has a lot of story and cutscenes and it's supposed to be real deep. I always wanted a game that used that type of loot system and still have a really good story instead of a point and click.

Too Human is looked at in this month's OXM as well.

Yeah, just saw it in this month's GI too lol I guess they still want people to know they haven't died yet.

Last week, Shane Bettenhausen caused an internet uproar, an e-debacle if you will, when he hinted that an anticipated Microsoft first-party title would soon be canceled. The title turned out to be Marvel Universe Online, and while it hasn't been officially canceled, it sounds like production is at a standstill. The second, less sexy part of the rumor: A top Microsoft exec is on the way out.

Towards the end of the 1UP Yours podcast while the topic was being discussed, host Garnett Lee asked guest host N'Gai Croal, "Do you watch any Nickelodeon like Something Possible?". If you're not as adept with afternoon TV trivia as we are, allow us to drop some knowledge: He's talking about Kim Possible. And that points squarely at Microsoft Games Studios boss Shane Kim.

there ya go, Shane kim and Marvel universe online

Marvel universe Online... a big title... lawlerblades. Never even heard of the game.

Actually im another, I had forgotten completely they were making this game lol. No big loss for me. I've pretty much stopped playing MMO's. I still have my ffxi account but im never on and should just cancel it.

Heard about it, but don't really care about it. Glad its that and not Too Human.
