PC Mass Effect 2 For PC For Free If You Got DA2

This works even if you got it on the PS3 or 360, I did it this morning before I left for work. Started the 12gig download and will install when I get home.

Released Dragon Age 2? Except we're enjoying the hell out of it, Zyndara has already beaten it 3 times and working on a fourth to get some trophies she missed.

Strid's drinking the kool-aid about DA2 being a bad game, rather than looking past the jaded views of a few moronic reviewers who think it should've been a clone of DAO.

No, if they need to copy anything it's Baulder's Gate, not this crap they are tryin' to replace it with. What I meant was that if I was at Bioware, from the front, I made Baulder's Gate and KotOR yet this is now what I'm puttin my name on and calling a quality RPG, hell, an RPG at all? Don't get me wrong, I'd love the money, but my head would be hung in shame.

I could only get through DA2 one time, then couldn't get motivated to play it again.

The horrendously reused areas and the enemy wave combat just turned me completely off.

I already have ME2, but since you can give away the code one of my friends is going to get a free copy. I told him I'd give it to him when he finished ME1 lol. He'll thank me in the long run.

DA2 is still a good game by todays standards though, just not one of Biowares best! It's still a solid 8.0-8.5 in my book, and just as good as Origins almost. People calling it "shit" because it's not Balders Gate or KoTOR are being unrealistic. Strid..I don't think you like any video games..yet you play them all. Weird.

Or have standards that haven't gone completely to shit since the last generation of consoles. Don't get me wrong though, even mine are much, much lower these days.

Or, alternately, it's simply a matter of people whose standards are different, not necessarily lower.

An awful lot of people have a pronounced tendency to declare something is awful when it's not what they wanted, despite the fact that developers aren't making games solely for that one person. I personally thought Mass Effect 2, for example, was a step backwards from Mass Effect, but I know people who had the exact opposite opinion, and both opinions were based on the same changes that were made to the game.

Or, to use a venerable turn of phrase: To each his own.

I guess my main problem with the game was that it just seemed half-assed to me. I'm a ME1 person, but ME2 was a well put together game, you can see the development time was put in. Then it was just a matter of whether or not I liked the "streamlined" features.

Dragon Age 2 on the other hand just felt like they didn't put the time it.

- The reused areas, I'm sorry but that just irked me every time I went in one. Especially since I was in one city for the majority of the game, the last thing I wanted to see were the exact same areas without one stitch of alteration when I left the city. They were too lazy to even edit the map down to only the parts you were using. Or make solid walls instead of doors blocked with grey concrete. Some games they've done reused areas for side missions, but never for the main storyline missions.

- The game takes place over 10 years but the city never changes a stitch, even after parts a burned and broken down rebuilt the same exact way. They were too lazy to even remove the dead bodies from Fenris house. The city wasn't interactive, nothing or no one really grew to give you the impression 10 years had passed.

- At any given time having 5 items named 'ring', 6 items named 'Ornate amulet', 5 items named 'belt'

It just felt half assed to me. I didn't like some of the stuff they streamlined, but like ME2 I can look past some things if the game was well done, but I didn't think DA2 was. Just my humble opinion.

I love it, granted I haven't played it, but I've watched Zyndara play through it 3 times with each class, and going through a fourth to get some left-over trophies.

Hell, I still haven't beaten the first after watching her beat it with each class/race and getting all the trophies, add-ons/expansions included.
I feel I've experienced enough of the game through her to give a good enough review on it, and she loves it more than the first, to each their own though.
Fenris is a dick, but an awesome dick, Anders well, act 3, nuff said.
Merrill is cute, but weird, Varric is fucking awesome, so is Aveline.
Isabella, well she's a slut, but she's a good slut.
And Sebastian can be a jack-ass.
I think I love each of the characters combined more than the previous game, though I wish Shale returned.

Trading in my copy for Xbox since I can get this for free.

Anyone know if you can take save files off an Xbox and transfer them to a PC legally?

Loved DA2, but did feel that it lacked the polish that DAO had. The copy & paste approach is very disconcerting to me and I hope it doesn't rear it's ugly head as much in ME3 and The Old Republic (different development teams, I know). I can't help but wonder how much of a had EA had in all of this; i.e., "Get this sequel out the door within X months so we can have something good to tell our shareholders." I mean if I remember correctly, when I picked up my copy of Awakenings, there was already a release date insert for DA2 and the only missed that target date by 3 weeks. All in all I thoroughly enjoyed where they're taking the story and I personally feel like Thedas is the new playground for BioWare and that the Forgotten Realms will never see another BioWare title. That being said, the gameplay and mechanical aspects of the game left something to be desired.

The fight with Arishok sucked hard because of the camera. Most of my problems came with the camera distance being so limited.

What are you talkin' about? I'm Strid, goddamnit, an' I talk like I'm from The Wild West so I can show that my rootin' tootin' cowboy horse-sense is nothin' to shake a stick at. That means I'm more logical since I soun' like yer dear ol' gran'father an' such'n. My opinion means more'n anyone else's regardin' vidya games, despite it's tone rivalin' that of Skaw!

Aww, you'll get over it.

I've noticed a lot of dudes have a man-crush on Fenris. One I know a little frightening at times. This guy is/was a guy that really defined "tough guy". I got a message from him when he had gotten to know Fenris a bit and it was awkward to his personal character. The text was really girly. "OMG Fenris is sooooo cute \(~.-)/ what a character." I'll be holding on to that message for later use. Anyway, he's not the only one, it seems most of my friends have the same feelings. My lady friends on the other hand, don't really get it.
