Ill give you that. I played Jade Empire and finished just because I felt I had too since I already got deep in it. IT was pretty boring and had nothing on KOTOR.
 
Never played jade empire but a friend of mine liked it.

Gonna pick this up on my way home from school tomorrow. I'll more than likely play it for most of the day tomorrow so we'll see how it is, hopefully its amazing and from what i've seen and heard and after watching the gametrailers review i cant wait.
 
My mother asked for birthday gift ideas, and I told her to feel free to add cash to my "buy Mass Effect" fund. Heh.

The timing kinda sucks, since I finally discovered Oblivion last week and don't want to stop playing for a new game. Still, better to have too many good games than not enough.
 
Picked this up today and been playing it pretty much non stop. About 5 hours in and barely even touched the main story. I like the gun play and although some of the conversations can be pretty damn long I don't think its necessarily a negative. The exploration levels are fun too, the mako is a beast and fun to drive around. The visuals are amazing too. During some of the conversation CS's on the normandy it looks likes a real movie, or atleast pretty damn close. The expansiveness is crazy too. Like i said i barley just started, i've only explored one of the galaxies of which there is like 10 or so. And of course the story is sweet too.
 
Well a 10/10 for me. I know it has a few AI issues and framerates, but I DONT CARE, I love this game so far lol.
 
I have a problem with the the load times ocassionaly. There have been a few so far, but the ones that have happened to me take like 3 minutes. I'm 2 hours into the game and i'm barely on the second planet. Out of like 15-20. This game is going to take a long ass time to get 1000/1000 GP for. Need 2 plays through minium...

I am enjoying it as well. I've been to just about every planet available to me at this point that won't advance the story. The last two nights have been me saying "I'll just finish one more thing and then go to bed." Needless to say I've been going to sleep around 3am, when I normally hit the sack at 11ish. Must be decent, no? Other than some of the framerate stuttering and game loading "issues" the only thing I would enjoy is slightly more enemy encampments on the individual planets. Sometimes the planet hoping formula gets a little much, finding 3-5 nodes of metal, find maybe 1-2 artifacts, and a crashed probe (which I can't do anything with because I am a soldier with no electronic skills), and kill one encampment of enemies. Then again I am sure once I get back to the main story missions the fights will be more frequent.
 
I believe Bioware has plans to have downloadable content for the planets later.
 
Yeah, it sucks going around to planets and not being able to check shit out since i have no electronics skill. Same with decypher. Ive been by a shitload of weapon lockers and equipment things that probably have some decent shit, but since i have no skills i cant open them. I wish you could get your party members to open them if they had high enough skills like you could in KotOR.
 
Yeah when I play through again I am going to make my character a class that has all the tech and bio skills. He'll be weak as a fighter but it will still be fun accessing all the stuff that is off limits to me due to my soldier class. Plus levitating folks and throwing them all about should be nice too.

Oh yeah and sniper rifle is fun. The AI should probably react a little better to being sniped though.

"Oh! Someone just shot me from over 150M away. I may want to take cover? Nah, I have my shields... ughhh...." :D

Even as a Tech you can still kill pretty easily later on. It can use pistols right? lol Just pump it with skills. The pistol to me so far is still the best weapon, though shotgun is certainly powerful. I haven't had anything survive 2 shots with it yet! I'll do a sentinal next time, thats the tech/biotic one right?
 
Nevermind, as long as someone in your party such as Tali has the skills you get them too basically. I just leveld up her decypher/electronics and was able to crack the shit icouldnt before.
 
As long as you ahve someone in your party that has a high enough skill to do *insert task here* you should be able to do it. Just bring, the first guy you get, i forget his name, or Tali. I prefer bringing Tali along, just because she is a pure biotec.

Who does everyone have in their main party?

I use Uwrex (sp?) and Tali, along with myself being a pure soldier class. (i figured i would get into more advanced things after i played through the game once).
 
Yeah pick members that best help with stuff out of combat because they sure don't contribute much during combat!
 
I bring a combo of either ashley liara or tali, but mostly just tali and ashley.
 
ive got Tali and for the life of me i cant remember the damn c-sec alien dudes name at the moment...starts with a C....but yeh, i got him.
 
Anyone else notice some less-than-polished textures? A good example is the Doctors outfit.
 
Yep! Do you guys think the games technical issues are the 360's limitations and processing power (pretty much the game is too powerful for a console and would be better suited for a computer) or Bioware just didnt polish it as well as they could?

Technical issues aside, this is still my favorite game on the 360 and mabye a top 3 all time for me.
 
I think with more time they could have polished it a little more but I think there is a ceiling and it may be close to being reached. Luckily it looks damn pretty. As always, when money is removed from the equation, PC > Consoles.

Oh I use Wrex and the woman I picked up on Eden Prime. I like to use Tali but she only wears light armor and dies way too easily.

I use Garrus. He's an offensive machine and can use decypher because he's a C-cek Agent. I use ashley as well because she packs a punch. I like the exta healing of Garrus too.
