Mass Effect

My only complain with the game is Veteran was way too easy to beat the game on. Playing through on Harcore now. Seems a little harder but I got to restart with my character still at level 50. The nice thing is it seems the game levels the mobs with you. Eden Prime this play through had juggernauts and commandos on it instead of the whimpy mobs it had the first time through.

The one thing I have to say is the AI in this game is incredible if you set them to use there abilities as active. The one thing that helps with this 2nd play through is the fact that the only weapon I have that doesn't have over 300 damage is the pistol which is at 294. I want to hurry up and beat Hardcore though so I can play insane and see if that is anymore difficult.

Well I was looking forward to the game for a long time and now that i beat it I have to say it was exactly as i expected... awesome. I managed to get the game to probably about 80 complete and am working on the last quest now. The game was a bit rough at first while I didn't have many skills but after a while as my character grew I was able to enjoy the battles more and more. Sure the Mako cant aim for shit and it annoyed the hell out of me until i found that if you aim under the target site you accuracy is much better.
The conversation system is great and i love that it is 100% voice acted which really brings you into the story. I can wait until the next installment comes out, i only hope they fix some of the relatively minor issues. Overall I would highly recommend the game if you enjoy roll playing/adventure games.

I just finished my second play through, and i was wondering if there was a way i could use my level 58 guy to be able to get the harder difficulty achievements? Whenever i go to "resume career" it puts me on normal, and in order to get the achievement i have to not change the difficulty. Does this mean i still have ~3 more plays starting from scratch, or will it give it to me if i just change the difficulty right away? I'd rather not play through the whole game again, just to find out i'm not getting anything, because i did it wrong.

Before you choose new game, go in to options and set the difficulty, then start over with the profile.

This is one of the best games i have ever played. I am just amazed by it. I beat it a while back now but have not posted here yet. Just adding my opinion, this game is a must buy. I am on my second run through and plan at least 3 or 4 lol.

School has kept me from beating this game! I'm level 50 on my first playthrough lol.

I am almost done with my second play though and I am actually thinking about going for a 3rd. This game is awesome, I cant wait for the download able content.

wow, haven't been on in a while...

This game is absolutely brilliant, in short, adventure / RPG plus third person shooter PLUS squad based play, with not only YOU having some half-decent skills! I mean, come on, this really doesn't work if you decide to go Rambo... which I think really does work well with the game.

At my second playthrough, done no side-quests the first time, seemed relatively short, started the side-quests and a week later (Considering i take 5 college courses and have a part-time job) i'm still trudging through it bit by bit with no end in sight to the sidequests, and that's a GOOD thing!

Bump.

I'm having a problem continuing my game on Insanity mode. Everytime i change it to insane at the main menu, then start a new game and pick my old char it just puts it back on hardcore. Anyone else have this problem or know how to fix it?

Change the difficulty before you land on eden prime, but after you start the game, and you will be set on that difficulty and be able to get the achievement for it.

Oh okay, thats what I did anyway and figured if anything else I'd finish the game with insane on and when i started up again it should be that difficult. No bigs though, figured I'll do a speed run through to get insane done and get the achievement unlocked, then go back through on the easiest one with highest aim assist and be a dick to everyone lol.
