Maximum exp caps?

Im wondering if there is a cap to the amount of exp you can get when playing solo...

I was hanging around at Bhafleau Thickets from Nyzul Isle, pulling the wyvern off of the DRG's for exp. (Not to bad really, getting 414 a kill, in what takes 10 seconds)

Now, I wasnt waiting at all, I was chaining the only 4 available wyverns (2, and then 2 more after they are recalled) and each chain was the same amount of exp as the starting Wyvern. 414. Coincidence, or is there actually a cap on the exp I can earn? Did have Empress Band on, but that has nothing to do with the constant number of 414
 
Having soloed Blm from 1 to now 70:

No there is no "cap". However, the level of the drg summoned will be within range of the level of the mob. So, if you were to level to 76 (just work with it), you would see a decrease in the xp. The nice thing about higher level mobs is that the pet summoned is almost always the same level. I have seen a 1 and less often 2 level difference between pets. At 75, the pet level really can't change in relation to your xp chart therefore it'll appear the same. You're chain # will effect the exp as will any bonuses you can get (ring, sanction, etc) but the base will always remain the same.

This is why a lot of BLMs solo xp off pets. The chains are fast and the base is the same really.
 
how the hell can you solo a job from 1-70 without dying of bordum? :wacko:
 
With anniversery ring I managed a 720 exp kill off a chain. I don't really think there's a cap
 
Post-50 I believe is when there's no cap. If you have Colibri camp to yourself and a bit of luck, you'd be able to get 1k XP on chain 6s with Empress Bands as BST...with Anniversary Ring it'd probably be able to get 1200xp there easy at L67-68 solo.

Slowly. Besides it avoids all the party drama... not to mention if my gear sucks I can't blame anyone but me. Its nice to do when you just want to get away from the idiots out there. (getting 800 xp a kill helps as well).

Cap for base exp:
1-50:200
51-60:250
60-75:300

The most you can get at 75 is 300 base exp, then you can add chain bonus, sanction bonus, ring bonus...
 
I soloed BLM from 50-65 largely on pets and some Qiqirn RNGs in Aydeewa towards the end. I enjoyed it actually. I mean who invites BLMs to exp anyway, what with everyone and their dog "cannoning" in ToAU? <_<

Flameass is correct with his base exp caps. Bonuses are calculated after. Just for reference, the chain modifiers:
Chain 1 - 1.2
2 - 1.25
3 - 1.3
4 - 1.4
5+ - 1.5

After exercising my very basic maths skills, I would estimate that the wyverns were about two levels above you, Ruffy.

Base exp at level 71-75 where monster is +2 levels above player: 160.

160
+50% Chain 5
+50% Empress
+15% Sanction bonus

160
+ (160 x 1.5) 80 = 240
+ (240 x 1.5) 120 = 360
+ (360 x 0.15) 54 = 414

I'm pretty certain Chain bonus is calculated before Empress. I didn't know they were compounded though. I thought it would have been a flat +80 for both.

While we are on the subject of blm solo. what are some good places for em 60+ to do so? I'm tired of blmackmages bugging me for invite when they either dont have ele staves or int ring(or gear for that matter) or they can solo for more exp than they will hold me back. I would like to refer them to spots where they can solo thier exp and not bug me.
 
as capable as blm soloing is. i couldnt do it. i'd fall asleep and get killed.
 
The first mob was 414 exp, then the chain 1 was 414, as well as chain 2 and 3.

I remember when I was killing these Wyvern without the empress band, I was getting around 300ish with sanction bonus, so subtracting the Empress Band exp bonus sets it around 310 exp per Wyvern, which were VT, and I was lv 72 before Emp Band, and 73 when I used it. So this sets the exp from the Wyverns to be around 260 each (without any exp bonus and while chaining), which I dont understand still if the cap would be 300

I got a exp chain 4 or 5 with no exp bonus on BST and got like 460 exp or something.
 
Khajit, you should try Bibiki. The BST goblins there spawn leeches often and you can easily chain them up to 5 or more. I was there during my early 60s with a nin sub pulling with drain and killing with an AM spell. Eventually you could knock them out by pulling with a tier III and then casting Thundaga II while they're sleeping (it's slightly more MP efficient to do so I think).

You should try the ranger Qiqirn (I can't recall their name) in Aydeewa if the exp tapers off as you reach mid 60s. Just camp in the BLU quest pool.

At your level 300 exp per kill is the base cap. Sanction bonus, ring bonus, chain bonus, and mob bonus (some mobs give extra exp compared to their level) can all take you past that cap.

I don't see how you could get 414 for for every kill chain 0-2+, the numbers for progressive chains wouldn't come out right for that.
