As Season 5 of the Fox mega-hit American Idol comes to a close tonight, I am only saddened by the upcoming verdict...

I would love for Katherine McPhee to win. She is a beautiful girl who has an amazing voice who actually has the potential to become part of the fabric of mainstream music in America today.

Sadly, I have a VERY stong feeling Taylor Hicks will win. Yes, they both have amazing voices and deserve acclaim. But, I just cannot see Taylor being popular on the scale that a young, gorgeous girl could be. Is his soul music going to penetrate the top tiers of the Billboard Hot list? Are teenages and young adults going to have Taylor on their iPods? >< I extremely doubt it, but I guess it's more of a "selective audience" he's going for.

Screw that, Lost Season Finale is tonight, I know what I'll be watching instead.
 
I watched the House season finale last night :X Not sure if I'm gonna be on Fox or watch Lost yet.

Come on, it's gotta be Lost, just about every mystery is gonna be revealed tonight, plus you know it will end with another cliffhanger till next season. I've always said it's gonna end with the timer counting down to 0, hearing a siren or some warning message, and then they end it like that. Who knows though, after Micheal's sudden betrayal I not sure what to expect. American Idol is just long pauses till the last minute, and anyway, Fox News will be showing it probably right afterwards. Oh, and staying on topic, Taylor Hicks will win, people want someone "unique", I think Hicks will pull it off by a small margin
 
I don't know who either of those people are. I heard someone on the radio say somethign abotu someone on AI looking like a goat. Goat-boy ftw.

unless this goat-man has been voted off or whatever. In which case i'll just keep voting for Vanilla Ice while I sit and eagerly await his massive comeback.

I like Katherine in the sense that I could never in good conscious buy or listen to a Taylor Hicks CD. She's not amazing or anything, but I could probably listen to a CD of hers. She's no Kelly Clarkson though!

And sorta off-topic but that House finale was pretty badass.
 
24's 2hr Season Finale was incredible!

LOST's 2hr Season Finale is today and everyone promises that it will be mindblowing!

The American Idol Finale this year should've been: Jack vs Jack Karaoke Style!

ps. The white haired guy should win just because he reminds me of Magneto everytime I see him.
 
I'm a Taylor Hicks fan but you're right I wouldn't buy his album. Then again I have never bought any American Idol winners album. They don't care who wins. Both 1st and 2nd place will put out an album, they will sell a million cd's and then we'll never hear from them again. Other than Kelly Clarkson no other winner has replicated her success. What's Fantasia up to? Other than Ruben "I'm sorry for 2004" what else has he done? I know the one country singing woman has had 1 or 2 hits off her album so time will tell with her.

The only reason Katherine McPhee is a finalist is because she looks good in tight jeans and jumps up and down a lot and shakes what her momma gave her.

And agreed, I do think I could listen to a Kathryn Mchpee CD over a Taylor Hicks one.
