It gives +50 and decays over time, down to 10. So the average depends on decayspeed. And if it stays at 10 for a while and so on.

But PLD would still probably come out on top. A PLD can easily cap MDT even without Aegis, defending ring or valhalla gear. Iron ram lance, avalon breastplate, resentment cape a mermans earring and a mermans ring vill cap. That leaves alot of room for MDB gear.

A blu has to use all the visible slots, both rings and earrings, just to get MDT to -25.
Idk, its possible you could make a better tank, but even with saline coat it takes alot of gear.

Def isnt really irrelevant when you do JoL with 12 or so tho, then the tank will have to eat a few hits from summons, and possibly an astral flow or 2.

not from JoL, its astral flow just makes all of its pets ws at same time, only a real danger if you have all three on one person at the same time(or if one happens to be attacking an unbuffed blm), in which case that person is likely to die without sentinel, a shield block, or shadows. He seemed to like to use this just after popping a new set so it can be an issue for the main tanks sometimes.

saline coat is actually pretty nice, had a blu use diffusion saline coat for carby in limbus(lights day) and it made a pretty big difference. I'm sure blu could tank JoL fine, not sure if its worth going through the trouble of getting the special gear for it though if you already have pld geared up (as pld should already have a decent magic set and probably a fire set, possibly a few other elements depending what you do)

JoL was actually one of my first major battles on pld... and it was very disapointing just an hour or so of spaming spells and asking for proper buffs and -na spells. I wouldn't want to tank on blu if that is the only mob I'm going to be tanking, by far one of the most boring mobs to tank.

But we would typically have a bit less then 18, and always just one tank, to speed up the boring fight as much as possible. So the tank would simply hold all the pets to, while the blms got their Ga's off. But the general point that def is pretty much a non-issue is true for the fight, in most circumstances. But i've only seen a PLD be able to eat all 3 Aerial Collision and live. I was like 100 hp off on rdm, so i know rdm can do it. Idk about Blu tho. Possible i suppose.

Is there any sort of delay between AF and the WSs? Because if there is, a well-timed Actinic Burst could help (AOE flash). That is assuming JoL and it's pets aren't resistant to light.

Lordamercy, its been like a year since i last did a JoL, so i dont really remember. But generally astral flow is pretty instant. Although you can stun some of them in limbus. Idk, you could experiment. I doubt it tho.
