Why not use this logic for everything? Don't buy brass armor at the NPC or AH, craft it yourself. Don't have enough skill? Better level it. Oh, and farm all the materials yourself. Yes, even the copper ore you need for the ingots you make to level your skill.

Ok, this "don't camp NM's unless you need the item" mentality has been pissing me off for a long time now.
I camp VE (and other NM's) often because I need to buy something that costs 4.5 million gil. I have an Emperor Pin already. Camping NM's is the best way for a THF to get money. It's a very expensive job and you can't tell me its not as some people try to (I had a PLD tell me THF was cheap. WTF. Try being the best THF you can be and tell me its cheap.) Not to mention I spend 60k+ each level (easy) on Sushi +1 and bolts.
I get harrassed a lot. Here is a conversation I had lately after I got the VE drop...

kickassdude>> selling it I already have one dude

Why do people have to be such jerks? Get a life. I farmed 450k for my first Emp Pin (same one I still use). Some kook told me the other day that "its 700k now though!" Guess what jerkface... the cuttings and silk and all the shit I farmed to get mine is all worth TWICE as much now. Which means it would actually take you a shorter amount to farm for yours. And another thing... you think I like spamming widescan for 3 hours straight (more for other NM's). You think I like the widescan sickness. Spam widescan for a while and tell me how you feel afterwords. It feels great to have your eyes bulging out your head. How 'bout every once in a while when you mistake "Goblin Mugger" for VE and your stomach drops out your butt. Fun times indeed.
I can't camp HNM's and I need a LOT of gil before I can level again. This is a rant. Nothing more. I usually shy away from the flameboard but this is one thing in-game that upsets me.

I just dont like it when people make the price jump 200k-300k... Kind of annoying.
