Here's what I came up with after messing around on my computer for a few hours (mostly out of boredom)

made with gimp 2, about 7 layers, and 4 background filters with minor shadowing on the model.

I think the backround has a nice soft look to it, the colors match up nicely with the character. Also, if you're looking for a way to enhance your picture quality, and if you're working in photoshop an easy way to do this is to duplicate the layer if the graphic (in your case, perhaps the character) and then on your new layer go to filter > guassian blur (usually set mine to 2-4) and then go to the layer properties, and set it to "overlay" or "soft light" and you should get a softer, more intense picture quality.

I think you've got some creativity with what you have here, shows promise. I'd be inclined to dress her up a little more because i'm not big on the skin, but everyone has their preferance.

I don't use photoshop, I use gimp 2...cause it's free :3

and I'll look into making it softer as well...but for now...I'm sick of looking at the thing heh
