If I'm not mistaken the menthol effect comes from a fiberglass additive. It gets in your throat so, maybe a little. I'd stay it's still almost even. Maybe menthol lights are a hair rougher than normal lights, etc. I smoked Marlboro Milds for years and every time I smoked a Light, it was the same feeling minus the Menthol shot.

I smoke Milds also. But i hear that all cigarettes with filters have Fiberclass in them.

The filter usually has fiberglass in it, yes, but not the tobacco itself. Exo is also right but it's the effect of the fiberglass. Menthol tobacco is like Dip. Dip has fiberglass in it to cut very tiny, you wont even notice unless you do it a lot (overtime, unless you swap brands, you gain immunity), spots into your mouth to get the full effect of the tobacco. This is what menthol smokes do except to other pieces of your body.
 
I smoke organic Am Spears, so I'm completely safe. Or I tell myself that.

Aside from the higher fiberglass additive, menthols taste like shit, so I don't reccomend them. I had to smoke Kool wides all this weekend and I wanted to die.
 
Those new Marlboro Virginia Blends are great, I love those.

In all seriousness, end-result is bad breath, stained teeth and maybe death.

Smoking of tobacco in general isn't too hot for you; if smoking's your thing, might as well enjoy it.

Pick your poison, just make sure if you're trying suck face with me that I'm really drunk so I don't taste it or like you so much I don't care. :O
 
I think the stereotype is black people smoke Menthols, at least here.

Lec, cigarettes are cool. Don't wave your facts at me. We smoke 'em 'cause we like 'em.
 
Menthol Cigarettes are no worse for you than any other kind. They do not have fiberglass in the filter or any other part of the cigarette. The mint flavoring is the same thing they put in menthol vapor rub. It does not crystalize in your lungs any more than that would.

Just pointing out what i've heard. But I dont care, I smoke and ill live with the consequences. No other legal thing so readilly available can relieve stress like cigarettes

My mom has smoked for 39 years and still hasnt seen anything besides shortness of breath. No wheezing, no flemmy cough, just tipical stained body parts bad breath and lower lung capacity. Im sure shell die a horrible slow death...
 
My grandma smoked over a pack a day for 66 years before she kicked it. I'm only up to 4 years, so I got plenty of time.

My mom works with the worst of the worst of the former smokers in her hospital, and even ones that are pretty well off. I'd usually take Trippys word on any kind of drug or substence except on tobacco.

They all end up like this. She brought me in to work one day to see what it was like after she found out i *might* start smoking on my 18th birthday. I wouldn't wish what happened to those poor souls on anyone.

One of my teachers smoked 3 packs a day for 20 some odd years. He quit smoking when his wife became pregnant. He was clean for ~10 years. The year i graduated middle school was the year he died from cancer.

You'd take my word on that one too.

Smoking causes lung cancer, emphysema, halitosis...

It's a key contributor to heart disease and strokes. It slows your blood flow, cutting off oxygen to your feet and hands. Some smokers end up having their limbs amputated.

It smells bad, it tastes bad, it's expensive, people bitch about it constantly if you smoke out in public.

I was just saying that Menthol cigarettes are no better or worse for you than non-menthol, and dispeling the urban legend that they contain Fiberglass, which has never been true. There was a fiberglass casing on the smokeless cigarettes R.J. Reynolds made in the 90's, but it was just the casing. 30 years ago, some cigarettes DID have asbestos in the filter, but that was 30 years ago.

Heh, smokes don't do it for me. I'll shake like a mad man without my Copenhagen.

As for the whole deal on fiberglass being and urban myth, I see to many stories of no and yes that I'll stick to my guns on this one. I know what my lungs and throat feel like after a pack of regular smokes and menthols. There is definitely fiberglass or something very similar to it in them.
