Actually my LS xp'd with me, let me leech by PLD back to 75 with a 14k buffer, from having deleveled to 73. Your end game LSs should do the same, it isn't the servers responsibility to get you xp to kill something for someone else. This flame should be in LS private forum, not public forum where people who don't know you can read it.

First off, I disagree with the OP in general for saying that there's something wrong persay with excluding BLM from merit parties/exp parties.

However, I would like to make the following connection:

1. BLM being discouraged from playing the job and quitting BLM due to the meriting situation.
2. Decrease in 75+ BLM population.
3. Complaints that in endgame BLM are overvalued.

It's just funny that the same people who exclude BLM from exp parties are the same people who complain that BLM are too hard to find for their events/ the ones they get are all stuck-up.

It's a self created problem, but as a BLM who enjoys all BLM parties and solo, it's to my advantage so I'm not going to complain about it.
 
BLMS who Merit/XP in PTs = Happy BLMs, simple ?

lol, I wasn't saying it is the servers responsibility to get me exp. I was saying I can understand what the OP is saying. I've just had it where I help people and they turn around and don't help me. It's annoying.
 
This topic goes hand in hand with the melee who level a mage to kill kings and wyrms.

You say level blm to get BB, I say level MNK to get merits (not you, but in general)

I think we both understand that that is how the game works.

Only difference is you can get BB for your MNK without ever touching the MNK job; I can get merits for my BLM on my MNK but I can't replace lost exp on any job except BLM. Hence so many people with BLM leveled sell off their BLM gear and refuse to play the jobs under any circumstances.

How is it them helping you when you get less exp than you would in a manaburn, and they get less exp than they would in a melee cannon? Zomg I don't want 10k/hr in a manaburn, I helped you guys get your osode, take me out to mire and get 6k/hr with me.
 
I like actually having to set up magic bursts and following skill chains, rather that just pointing and shooting.

Just because you can, doesn't mean you should have to be stuck doing it.

Hey, if a blm friend of mine is putting together a party, I'll join. Some random guy I've never heard of and might never again, I probably won't. That's where having friends comes into play. I've let cythe leech off a monk cannon because he was my friend, although he was actually able to carry some weight with his skills and (often borrowed) gear. Party with friends, if they're actual friends they'll party with you; but stop trying acting like people who don't even know you owe you an invite to their exp party. That's meant to the OP more than you mire.
 
I don't like to xp at all. I want as much in as short of time as possible so i can go have fun.
 
I must have the best luck in the world because whenever I go to the main pudding camp its either empty or there's one or two other people. When I run to the camp there's usually an empty wamoura camp on the way. If you have five other blms in your linkshell you have a 10k an hour party. Tada.

Like other people suggested, talk to the other jobs that have a worse invite rate and go exp in Lufaise or off those treants in the new areas.

Yes, it'd be nice if we could all happily merit and SC together off IT mobs and everyone had a cute puppy dog but that is not how it works. I don't expect people to gimp their exp for me and I wouldn't do it for them either. Leeching off a TP burn isn't any fun in the first place.

The melees don't get invites to regular exp parties either. Noone does. Normal parties no longer exist. FFXI is about sticking with your own kind. The days when different types of jobs worked together for EXP died with TOAU. Chances are, SE will embrace this segration, and create ample new exp zones so that mages and melees never need cooperate again, which is what everyone seems to want. Loyalty to your designated "burn" - resentment of all other burns - this is the FFXI way.

I'd imagine the people that are meriting their BLM love the job. If they didn't, why bother? Coming from a job that struggles with invites from day one, you take what you get and you make the best of it...Or you make the best with what you've got.

im the same as sneaky(as sad as that is). i love havin a blm. xp is xp, dont matter whos in the party as long as your gettin xp and havin fun. if ya ever wanna merit look me up and ill usually be ready to merit. :)

i am a thief and a blm, primarilly a thf. i levelled blm in 3 monthes only, i enjoy the job. I choose blm because i thought that it had a very high invite rate lol. how dissapointing. Exp invites stoped at level 65 basically. I SOLOED 70-75.

But i dont complain on the blm part since its needed endgame and exp is easy to get.

now for thf..... I had a lot merit pt cause i had my RL friend pchan (rdm) that always pt with me, but since he left the game, i got exactly zero invites.

So I am wondering what those "TP burns" parties are and what those "Manaburn" parties are. Never get any either on thf or blm (well get some on blm, like once a week).

ONLY 5 jobs get invites in this game: brd, rdm, war monk ninja. thats it. its not thf or blm problem, any of the 15 ( or so) other job suck at pt invites.

2 weeks ago my thf buffer went down to 5k from dynamis sac pulls, and decided to go blm instead until i get some buffer. people didnt like it, and during this 3 hour beaucedine run exactly zero AF2 or 100 coin droped lol ( we didnt have any thieves or /thf lol). I lfp 6h/day durimg thenext week end not a single invite, i went solo on thf lol, 1.5k/hour, not bad.

Solution to our problems: stop getting those fucking war and nins their omg ubber sky drops, stop coming in dynamis with your omg ubber assassins armlets.
 
If you guys need a brd to go out and duo or trio or w/e count me in Kink and Sneaky. I'd love to drag my 72 brd out somewhere where I can get steady xp. Because of the rediculous amount of over camping done in alot of the places I'm forced to go out to to pt at I'm lucky to get 2-3k/hr lately.
