Ok, if you have 2 jobs 75, say ninja and warrior, and you get merit points for the warrior like berserk timer. Then you go and sub warrior do the merits still count?
 
No they don't, meriting a warrior JA/Jt like berserk or double attack is on WAR main only.

You can merit on war though and use those merits for ninja tho, merits accumilate no matter what job you are on.
 
No. The Merits that are specifically related to each job only apply when you are maining that job. They also only apply when that job is 75, so delevel or go to a level capped area and they won't work.

I thought merits activated in capped areas, one for every 10 levels (so up to 4 Crit Hit merits in a 40 cap area).

If not that kinda sucks, they are only useful in uncapped stuff.
 
Crit+ Is not job-specific, so it activates for your non-75 jobs as well, Baj was stalking about the Job-specific things like Berserk, or Double Attack+ for WAR

Ahh that's much better, made me think there was no real reason for me to Merit for a minute there.

They do, just the Job-specific ones, such as double attack rate are only whent he job is 75. HP/MP, Attributes, Combat stats, Magic Stats, and Others all work for all jobs and work in level capped areas.
 
Somthing to note though... rapid shot is most certianly broken as far as getting limited to rng main only.

I've been a rng a long time now, and I also have max rapid merits. I mention this just to highlight the fact that I have a very solid "feel" of what rapid shot is.
Consistantly, I see rapid shot go off when I main another job.
