Up until now I've kinda neglected SCH, but I've started to get back into it and now I need to think about merits. As far as group 2 go, I've pretty much decided what I think I'll do (I'll post what I plan to do in a sec) but group 1 merits have been giving me quite a bit of trouble.

I've always thought that helix spells were overrated, but when I started using SCH at endgame I can see that they're really damn good. For this reason I am seriously putting 5 points each into Helix Magic Acc./Atk. and Modus Veritas duration. However, putting 5 into max sublimation seems very temping, even more so with the release of SCH relic (extra tick on the body). So my question is, is it worth putting points in sublimation at expense of helix usefulness.

As for group 2 merits go, I'm tempted to put at least 1 point in Enlightenment so I can get access to certain spells in emergencies (such as sleep spells while under light arts in case I couldn't use dark arts for what ever reason). Then I'd put 4 in Focalization which would be useful in certain end game situations and finally 5 Stormsurge to make my SCH more useful over all at end game. Although the strategem merits are good, the fact that they take up 2 stratagems has put me off most of them completely. The only one that actually wowed me enough to want to merit it was focalization. Anyways, I'm open to suggestion; is there a better way to merit SCH?

IHMO 5/5 Sublimation is awesome. It's actually an extra 50 MP tacked on to your total. And the charge still only ticks 25% of your max HP. So it's like 50 free MP per charge.

Focalisation is one of those situational things. I opted for 5/5 since I have BLM75 and anything high enough that I would need that much extra M Accy for I'd just go BLM for. And Enlightment 5/5 is a very useful tool to have.

5/5 Helix and 5/5 Stormsurge are kind of givens for SCH.

My SCH is only 37, but I use every chance I get as a sub. My opinion would be based on this question: How is your MP management atm? If you are getting plenty of MP with your current setup, rarely, if ever, needing to rest, then meriting this may be almost diminishing returns.

Another way to decide depends on what you primarily do in endgame. If your helix spells are relied heavily upon, then those should be your primary concern. You can always rest while they are up. If, however, you are primarily a healer, and rarely throw in helix spells, or at least not asked to use much, then yes sublimation > helix.

Statistically MV Merits are more useful until relic body (unless you're a taru) and then it also depends what you do because if you find yourself sitting on your sublimation alot then meriting them would probably not be that useful. However, if you are constantly using your sublimation then that's even more incentive.
