MGS4 on 360 1st

GeoW is breakthrough shooter, never played anything like it. 360 has a FPS coming out.. that is an online RPG stat based game, thats pretty groundbreaking in terms of FPS no? Shadowrun is that ones name. Oh it also has Bioshock another RPG element FPS which is more story oriented then Shadowrun.. They allready had PerfectDarkZero, which was totaly different from other FPS and very difficult imo. Now i understand what you are saying about each console directed towards a certain game, but its not completly true. X360 and PS3 both are attacking every game type. 360 has more shooters ATM, but many RPGs and other types coming this year and into 08'.

Gears of War took Kill Switch, and made it better. Which is a good thing. Because aside from Cover, Blind fire, and the like being introduced into the Genre, Kill Switch was pretty underwhelming.

I'm too lazy to read everything, was this confirmed a hoax?

Ty it was just april fools lol. Kojima(whatever his name is) came out and had an interview stating it will not be coming to 360 at all.

In later interviews he's retracted his "never" comments to, "not going to say yes, not going to say no". Would make sense considering his next series of games have been confirmed Xbox exclusives. However, the title is still a hoax. This might be the Sony's last little joy for a few months, still, with Capcom growing a pair though, who knows.

Although i agree the blind fire is similar, the games don't even come close to each other in style or gameplay.

he said ps3 was theatre and 360 was dvd. all movies in a theatre come to dvd eventually. where as for television, not all movies end up on television. thats my take on how he said that. thats not saying it is or it isnt, and personally. I wouldnt care...i dont like MGS anyway lol.

ya very true chasym, maybe its a timed exclusive... oh noes the rumors start again! :p

Kotaku also has, never deleted, a news article about PS3 being the #1 selling machine at launch this round with 1 million sold, NOT SHIPPED, SOLD. Creditable source? I think most definatly NOT. Game Informer on the other hand... It'll probably be timed, like all the other MGS games but I doubt (bolded for emphasis for Fire, God knows he'll miss it and also doesn't directly or indirectly mean "I know") for as long as they where. As far as I'm concerned though, with the way any MGS after Sons of Liberty turned out, the game is done and they are doing nothing but finishing a contract which, is bad.

He also said:

Hideo Kojima said:
"But like I said, MGS4 is aimed for the movie theatre, it's aimed for the PS3, so the game's scenario and graphics need this theatre-type hardware. It's when a producer has a game that can work on the 'DVD level' that a game will go multiplatform"

One thing i admire about Hideo, is the man is true to what he does, as opposed to doing it for the money, It's obvious there is a smaller budget and more money in making MGS4 go multiplatform, his vision for creation is above his desire for more money. It shows in his editing, like how in MGS2 the way he made his name show up in the intro when the music was at a climax lol.

true ant, but that doesnt mean that it cant be compressed and formatted to run on the xbox.
as all movies show "This movie has been formatted to fit your screen".
and i also like creativity over money, those are the most respectable people to me!

I guess it's a good thing he's not porting it cause apparently none of you would have bought it.

Ha, nice try. Same as Chas, would have DLed it or rented it but not rushed out and made sure I was waiting in line spankin' the guy in front of me off and takin' one in the pooper for it. It'll get ported, it's just a matter of when.

I don't say much around these topics, but all I'm going to add is that MGS4 being ported is far from a certainty. In the 9 years since the Metal Gear Solid was released, only 1 game in the series has been ported to a non-Sony console, that being Metal Gear Solid 2: Substance.

And don't mention Twin Snakes, that wasn't a port anymore than the GC Resident Evil was. It was a remake of MGS released 6 years after it came out on PlayStation with new cinemas and game mechanics that for the most part broke a lot of the balance of the original.

I'm not sure if you're taking it into consideration, but MGS3 was actually the only game not to receive a port to the PC, which assuming it's executed well, is better than any console release.

And don't mention Twin Snakes...
Twin Snakes is like Snake's Revenge. You don't fucking mention it, or you deserve to be shot. It's something that needs to be overlooked and forgotten for all time, never to be mentioned by any human ever again.

All in all, I hope Kojima comes to his senses, Konami ignores his wishes, or a little bit of both. I'd like to play this game, but as things stand, that will not happen.

No, I didn't consider PC ports since I think of PC gaming as separate from console gaming.

Not even Higharolla Kockamamie? But he won the "Merciless Man of the Year" Award, 7 times in a row.

No! No god no! I've already got to go pick up some eye bleach from the first mention of that abomination of a game... ; ;
