Awesome. It will still be a hassle if it breaks and I have to go without, while it gets fixed, but instead of it costing me $140 it will now be free. I had already decided if I got the RRoD I was just not going to be a 360 owner anymore (or at least not until some hardware revisions and a lot of price cuts) and this move will certainly allow me to stay a happier customer longer. Bring on Blue Dragon, Mass Effect, and Lost Odyssey!
I should go to Best Buy and demand my $80 back now.

ya it is retroactive, BUT if you bought it at launchit will expire in november of 08, hence he saying he will have to buy a new one. i wouldnt want only 1 more year on a warranty. shit i bought the extended with them so wonder if i will get my money back hope so it was 50buck i can use on a new game.
