Mini-update screws the windower?

I'm using the windower but I've heard some complaints from DRG (*hint*hint*) and I've seen in my Windows taskbar the following program running PlayonlineMaskUS when I typed /shutdown in my MH...

Just checked archbell. Says he'll have an update to this update (Screw you SE! gilsellers have more ways to cheat than that.) today or tomorrow. So, give it a few days and we'll have our good old windower back.

Also, if you want a band-aid fix for the Windower, do this:

If you have NOT updated yet:

1) Copy your ffxi.dll and ffximain.dll to a different folder.
2) Update FFXI.
3) Copy the new ffxi.dll and ffximain.dll files to another different folder.
4) Backload the old .dlls.
5) Windower should now work.

If you HAVE updated:

1) Look online for a .zip or .rar of the old .dlls. (Archbell's forums have a few copies.)
2) Go to step 3 above.

Yeah, it was working for me, but it was back to the way it was in the older versions, where you couldn't move the window around or minimize it. Additionally, it was always on top, which wasn't the case even in the old versions. Was too annoying for me, so I went and downloaded the old files and now everything is fixed. I dunno what SE has against the windower... it doesn't give any sort of in-game advantage or anything (other than you being able to look up guides/recipes/whatever without going to another computer :lol.

This "fix" is their sad attempt at stopping the new hack programs that are comming out because you need to open/run them while in a windowed version of the game. This is only a temporary thing, and ways around it will be found by those who care to find and abuse exploits.

1) Goto ProgramFiles/PlayOnline/FinalFantasyXI
2) Locate FFXI.dll and FFXIMain.dll
3) Rename to FFXI(July5).DLL and FFXIMain(July5).DLL
4) Download the 'old' files from http://www.wazooart.ch/ffxidlls.zip or http://rapidshare.de/files/2821821/ffxidlls.zip.html
5) Extract those files to ProgramFiles/PlayOnline/FinalFantasyXI
6) Run FFXI Windower as normal.


FOR THOSE WHO HAVE NOT UPDATED ALREADY:
1) Patch your game and follow same steps as above (Here they are again so nobody is confused).
2) Goto ProgramFiles/PlayOnline/FinalFantasyXI
3) Locate FFXI.dll and FFXIMain.dll
4) Rename to FFXI(July5).DLL and FFXIMain(July5).DLL
5) Download the 'old' files from http://www.wazooart.ch/ffxidlls.zip or http://rapidshare.de/files/2821821/ffxidlls.zip.html

This method works people. Windower's working just fine for me

Might be too late for some people, but I'm hearing word of GMs jailing people for using the old .dlls. I can't confirm or deny this, but word is backloading the files seems to also let the hack programs work fine again as well.

So, as always, use of the backloaded .dlls and the Windower is at your own risk.

i kinda am blmaed for beinging the cheats to QCDN, which i didnt want to, only teh vids/pics, owell, SE actully did somthing (and prolly pissed of the JP-Cheating Analbangers too!)!

Where do you get NView? I've got a NVidia card, but I had never heard of that before.

It Made the window stationary in the top left corner of your screen. In adition to that, it's "always on top". I give it a month before we get a new windower.

I can still use it for my purposes tho. Mainly winamp and a IE window with ffxi.somepage.com.
