The game is preordered so i'll definately be on, although my play time is likely to be a more sporadic since I'm no longer living with parents and have a lot more responsibilities with my own house now.

I know how that is... apartment... bills... work... kitty cats...! My playtime isn't what it used to be back in the day. I like the sound of the questing system in this game. You can actually progress in the game, even if you are only online for an hour or two a night :)

I also pre-ordered the collector's :) head start.. go go go!
 
Really wish they had examples of other character creations as intricate as Miqo'te. (especially female Elvaans.) :(

I've seen one of a Dunesfolk Male :) they look so cute n.n...

I am very interested in female wood elf :) I am still torn between seeker of the sun, dunesfolk and elf D:

It's a fairly detailed process. A far cry from the old "pick one of these faces, then one of these hair colors, then you're done!" that XI has. Typically like 6-8 options for each major feature (hairstyle, eyebrows, mouth, general facial structure, etc) and a color palette of 20 or so colors for each thing that can be colored. I assume they'll add more options as development progresses, but it's not bad for closed beta. Much better than the Alpha, for example.
 
is this character creation similar to how the Dragon Age: Origins game lets you make your characters?

I'm going to make a lalafel tomorrow morning while I try this on his computer. Crashing here tonight to wake up early to play tomorrow since it starts at 8 am est.

Yeah I've been following FF14, but... just can't find all the hairstyles, colors, etc for elvaan wildwood and duskwight. No love for the girls. :(

I was thinking mithra at first, but then...I realized most people will probably be mithra so I'll just represent my old character race :D
