Mithra /sit

After reinstalling FFXI a week or so back, I dug out the old .dat files for the Mithra sit animations... Any of you who played back at PC release will remember what that looked like. Well, it's back, and in handy self-extracting format.

Not really sure if this should go in General or Fan Works, so it's in both.

I would be much more comfortable downloading the dats and placing them in manually than downloading an exe, especially with that recent virus targetting ffxi passwords. 8)

if you look at the picture that Mai posted, you will noticed that the mithra has her legs kinda spread out, exposing a more private area. I believe, though am not 100% sure about this, that parents complained to SE about the 'indecent nature' of the posture after the game was released in the US, and so it was changed to the tight legged, prissy, and very annoying sit that mithra have now.

I agree with Rones. Mai, could you just post up the dat itself? i would love to have the old sit back.

I agree about the Exe thing though. Much rather have the .dat.

It's four .dats, and I figured you wouldn't want to have to wait 4 times through rapidshare's line until you can download a tiny file... And I don't see why ya can't trust me.. It's a self-extracting zip file, you can download it, extract to non-default directory, and see for yourself what it's putting on.

Only you can see .dat changes.

Because, as is the case currently, I have no .zip application, got eaten with the rest of my computer, so the file I already made and upped is the only version currently, and I had stupidly assumed I might be considered trustworthy after posting here for this long... As I said, uploading them tomorrow.

It's not that we don't trust you. We just didn't know if you personally made the exe or if something else might have slipped in when you did. The fact that you say something 'ate' the rest of your computer has me worried. :shock:

I personally made the exe -after- formatting the computer, while the virus was sitting in unpartitioned space. If you know of a virus that can survive that, I'll show you a pink flying elephant.

She included the files in the inappropriate folder already. (eg: the DATs in folder 51 go in folder 51.)

hey is there anyway to get back the original /sit ^^;; if you have the file could you put it up please ...I thought it would be cool at first, but now it looks a bit masculine....

you mean the new sit Areya '-'; the one that was put up by mai is the origional. I'll dig up the files for you so you can change it back. (^^;

First rule of replacing DATs, always move them to a backup folder, don't just overwrite.

The .dat will be replaced with the current one on FFXI's next version up, I'll grab those .dats and bundle them in, too. Until then, gotta get them from someone who hasn't replaced them without backup. ^_^;
