Miyamoto nominated for TIME 100 again. Time to rig votes XD

Wtf is Will Smith even doing on that list. Especially if they are only looking at I Am Legend and not his awesome roll in Fresh Prince.

I continue to say that that is fucked up and very indicative of our society as a whole.

Shigeru Miyamoto contributed a lot to the gaming community, but he changed the world in 1985; NOT in 2007.

Fixed. I truly believe he is well deserving of this. He saved the games industry over 20 years ago, but take a look at what he did now with Mario Galaxy and its rewriting of Video Game Physics, and Wii Fit which actually makes excersizing FUN. Impossible right? Excersizing... fun?

But did he actually write that physics engine? By rights, that badge of honor should belong to a team of Nintendo programmers. Saying that is like saying Gabe Newell wrote the HAVOK Physics Engine for Half-Life2, which is inaccurate at best.

Same goes for the WiiFit. It's just a rehash of an old idea (World Class Track Meet or DDR, anyone?)

I'm not discounting the man's importance to gaming at all, I really am not. However, at the risk of sounding like Elemmire trouncing over everything entertainment, I stand by what I've said thus far.

Also, I said 2007 because 2008 isn't even halfway over yet. Those awards honor contributions from the last year, so 2007 is still accurate.

Good for him.

Not that he really needs the free advertising.

But good deal regardless

The important thing is the idea which Miyamoto had and supervised to fruition. The programmers wouldn't have thought of it on their own most likely so why should they get the credit?

I'm gonna have to stop you right there, poopsie. (lol old word)
First off, Trist made no mistake in saying 2007. The poll gauges their contributions in 2007, not this year.
Second, DDR is fun. And from what I've read, people lose weight from it. It's all based on opinion though, I guess. You can say it's an exercise game, or you can say it isn't.
I'm gonna have to agree with trist on this, though, that he really DIDN'T deserve winning. Not that some crazy-ass Korean singer or political pundit deserve it any more, but seriously...
Meh, whatever though. Will be interesting to see how they show him on the cover.
