Can anyone tell me where to find the .dat list updates for the model viewer? I'd like to check out some of the armor added in the latest update and I don't know where to look for the list.

Haven't seen any updates for MV, but there is an English version of AltanaView, which i think is better, that was just released with the new gear from last update included. Only saw two new body pieces and the event hat, but several new skins for most of the weapon types.

I should deffinately check out AltanaViewer.
If you still want Model Viewer the lists have been moved here:

It looks like Phabin hasn't updated in a while so it might be a lost cause :/

EDIT: ZOMG AltanaViewer is aWESOME. I thought Model Viewer was great, AV has soo much more stuff :D

Well, what I'm most interested in is the Barbarossa's Zereh; I was told it's leather and I want to see if it will really be the panty+leg warmer combo that other leather gear is for mithra. If it is, I'm .dat changing that bitch asap.

Does altana view show the .dat file for the gear/npc/whatever, or would I still have to use the model viewer for that information?

Edit: Ok, Altana view is pretty nice, and it does show the .dat locations. Unfortunately it's missing some of the added gear, specifically the Barbarossa's Zereh, which is the only thing that I really wanted. I'll have to wait for another update I guess. Thanks for the help guys.

Question: Would it be safe to assume that if one had the .dat files for FFXI that they could use model viewer, since I'm on ps2?

Barbarossa's Zerehs look identical to Sipahi Zerehs, the stitched-together leather shorts.

yeah, if there are multiple names for gear that SE uses identical graphics for, which they do alot, then it will only be listed as one of the names, usually whichever was released first.

Yeah, if you've got FFXI on your computer. If you do then the model viewer will work.

Damn, no model viewer for me. I'm on ps2, so I can't do any of that cool stuff you PC ppl can do (Fraps, parsing, model viewer, etc.). I kinda thought it would make sense if you just had the .dat files in a folder, even w/o FFXI on pc.

Thanks, I forgot to check if they were a palette swap of another gear. At least I won't have to change the model now.

That still works. I transferred the dat files to another computer (without the rest of FFXI) and it worked fine. (you'll still need to get the dat files for your pc though...)

this MV is nothing short of fantastic. even has CS motions and stances. im in love.:spiteful:

Is it just me or do no modelviewers have W.Turban?

That's because the W.Turban uses the same model as the Sha'ir/Sheikh Turban.
