This is probably a dumb question, but I picked up a stuffed big one this morning for the added fishing skill. However, I've never really paid much attention to moghancements and how they work so I'm a bit confused. It didn't give me the key item for fishing skill until I removed my bed and two of my new cute little snowmen, so now I only have one sad little lonely snowman being kept company by the dead fish on my wall.

Is there a way to have multiple items in your MH without this happening? My MH just looks sad with no bed and the two furnishings lol.

Thanks!~

Furniture items have varying "weights" when it comes to determining Moghancement influence, with some easily overpowering others. There's a decent Moghancement Guide at FFXIclopedia.

One thing to keep in mind if you combine items to boost your moghancement is that there are two Moghancements for fishing, but they're both called Moghancement: Fishing. One will improve your fishing skill, but the other increases the number of items you'll snag. The only way to know which one is active is to check the description in your key items.

Remove fishing enhancement. Quickly. It doesn't do anything but increase the amount of items you fish up to my knowledge, which you typically don't want. For energy enhancements you would probably need close to powerful energy to notice a serious difference. Note the aura strength on the furnishing. Whatever furnishing has the highest strength will override all others in providing an moghancement, which is why I usually have experience up since my bed has such a large rating.

EDIT: Hadn't realized that Hali. The one I kept getting was items increase.

Yeah I was going to check wiki, but it's blocked at work and I'm to impatient to wait until I get home lol. ;) Thank you for the info, I kind of figured there wasn't a way to keep the fishing skill plus have all my MH items but I thought I'd double check.

Even if you have smaller enhancements totaling more than the aura strength of the strongest furnishing it will still give you the moghancement it provides.

There's items that have moghancement: fishing and some that have moghancement: fishing skill. Fishing increases the amount of items you pull up (many furnishings have this trait, which is why I only have cabinets and such on mules) and fishing skill will actually increase skill. The only item I know of (outside of GP items) that will increase fishing skill is The Big One. I can't link to it right now because I'm at work but it's an item that occasionally comes up on ah.

Anyway thanks for the moghancement info. :)

Edit:Oops sorry I started this post before your edit lol.

So in order to get 2x CP or w/e from your nations flag is if you remove everything else?

Post the list of all your furniture and we can figure out how to get your fishing skill active

In a nutshell:

1. Add up the weights (not shown on the item itself, you'll have to refer to a furniture guide) of all your furniture of a given element, to find the total weight of that element.
2. Repeat for each element present in your mog house.
3. The element which has the highest total, is going to be the dominant element.
4. The single furnishing within the dominant element with the highest *individual* weight, will determine the moghancement. Not sure on tiebreaker rules where more than one item (with different moghancements) fits that bill.

As a general rule, items that give good storage tend to give Moghancement Fishing (the crappy item one, not the skill one), due to having disproportionately huge elemental weight. Typically you will therefore either a. have to have *inefficient* mog house storage, taking up more of your mog safe for it than you would otherwise, b. not have all that much mog house storage, or c. put up with Moghancement Fishing on your main.

If you want a particular item's moghancement in effect, then add items to your mog house of the same element as, but less elemental weight than, the item in question, until the total for that element is higher than any other pre-existing element. (Or, alternatively, remove items of other elements.) If you have any items of the same element but *more* elemental weight than the item in question, they will just plain Have To Go.

To vil: if there's a tie for elements, no moghancement.
If theres a tie for highest moghancement(2 conflicting moghancements) for the same element no moghancement.

90% Sure more than 1 of the same item/mogahacement tie for highest in an element will give you that one.

So if you have two moghancement items with the same effect (e.g. fishing skill) the effects don't stack right?

Only get 1x moghancement. Check the wiki, iirc they explain it very well there.

if im reading wiki correct i can get my conquest point enhancement by putting more Wind based items in my MH right? i got my windy flag not long ago and its wind based. right now i have the desynth enhancement from all the lightning items in my MH.

the flag has a weight of 9. the stools, i have 5, and the dream (all 3) items add up to about 19. so i have to get wind up to 20 right? without using items that add another MH from that element?

Don't think so because I tried this and got all fire furniture beside my mannequins and beds with sandy flag and it gave me enhancement fire not conquest.

On total different note you can only get 80 storage space.

You should be able to have a near full moghouse and still get "Fishing: Skill" I overcame the 7 mannequins light mogenhancement to get the "Fishing: Skill" enhancement. The only way to make it "stronger" is to build your water element to over 100 (I believe) while still maintaining "Fishing: Skill" as the dominant water mogenhancement. I'm pretty sure you'd need the Fishing Hole Map and The Big One to pull this off, without having a bare MH.

Yeah I only have the big one so far, but I'm sure it'll be easier when I get some of the GP items. ;)
