So I was trying to do the Moogle Quest/Azimuth Circle II yesterday.
My friend would rest and get the messages and I got my doll easily.
Then I rest... no messages.
So I stand and type /heal
Still nothing.

- Yes, I made sure to sit there for over a minute or two even. Still nothing.
- We tried it 6 different times to no avail.
- I destroyed my kimono-thingy from the event 2 years ago (the one where you'd be tele'd to Den of Rancor, etc) just in case that was the problem. No change.
- I turned ALL filters off (i.e. filtering nothing). No change.
- Restarted POL. No change.
- Restarted computer. No change.

Has anyone else run into this? I'm lost as to why this isn't working.
I put in a GM call, but I guess [GM]Dave was busy feeding gilsellers to Jormundgand, because I still haven't heard anything back...

Never heard of it. I'd have to say wait for the GM to reply... you're still logged in right? If not, get in there... they won't wait for you to come back online, so if you logged while they tried to contact you then you'll have to submit another GM call.

ugh... i was on for 3 hours and no reply.
/sigh
guess ill do it again after work

Yeesh... the few times I've made calls, I think 80min was my max wait time. You could try their online support chat thing, but if I remember correctly those people cannot assist with any in-game issues.

That sucks!

Does anyone know what the prize is for doing it after the first time?

The first prize i got is a NQ yukata which gives the Muteppo firework (very popular)
The second/final prize i got is a HQ yukata which gives the Dochuchu(sp) firework, which isn't nearly as popular.

The prizes aren't that great unless you like a firework that shoots off a few fireworks in the sky, and one that turns you into some kinda pacman looking creature.

I've done this one several times and got both yukata, and even did in every starter city with HQ yukata on, and after that you just get summer fans and some little dinky stuff.

I was trying out the super scoop thing, that seemed pretty interesting, only caught about 26 fish so far though :/

did you talk to the mog a 2nd time before being transported? make sure he gives you the compass before your partner has it warp you out

I think it's safe to assume that what the firework turns you into, is one of these.

I was confused at first, when someone described it as turning you into some kind of pumpkin, but when I saw the firework myself, I figured it was one of these lantern things.

Not surprising that people unfamiliar with Japanese history/mythology probably wouldn't know about them. I only know about them through certain games and anime that have mentioned them. Like that SNES game "Legend of the Mystical Ninja", or "Pocky and Rocky" (1 and 2). 3 lesser known games that seem to include quite a few creatures of Japanese folklore and such. :P
