While I have no personal beef with Hells as I haven't had dealings with (her?), I agree with this entirely.

Half of the bullshit on there would be dealt with swiftly, but I can also see it being abused (namely, let's gang up on X person we dislike this week and red-dot them into the Stone Age).

lol...no, I'm talking about the thread that was all Teppo. If I remember correctly I think it was titled something like "Do you guys realize we think mithra are hot?" and then derailed into a bunch of suggestive pics.

Just personal opinion, but this is a good thing. If someone comes to the board for the first time to deal a flame, the flame is going to suck. If someone already has a reputation on the board and comes and flames someone, slamming their reputation will lower it, but won't red dot them. This will eliminate long-standing dumbasses like Hellstorm from hurting our eyes, and prevent people like natashaa and other MBP members from necroing flames

really(not attacking your post or anyones), wasn't the dot system used because no one liked the thanks button system? The dots were a more subtle(sp?) way of showing it than one person having so many hundred of thanks from posts; I'd like to go back to this system and add a 'boo' button to it if people are concerned so much for showing others 'true colors'.

Neither the thanks button system or the dot system are completely accurate as people with misdealings have high rep as well as people who are respected have the same or less; but if people are concerned with people hiding it then the thanks button and boo button would illuminate it better than the dot system imho.

About the hellstorm thing, in fairness doesn't some of the bigger flames and such invovle people like him or others with black dots? The FB is intended to bash the mess out of people but, there should be that stuff we hate so that when we join shells at any stage of the FFXI career we know why this person or whomever was bashed on the FB rather than lets just bash this person.

A person can be disliked but it's best for the person themselves to post and show why they are disliked and further the point of 'discussion'(using that lightly in the FB sense).

I doubt not letting red dots post would solve the problem. Of all the red dots not banned that post in there only person I can think of offhand who has not posted anything relevant at all is WSM. Hell needs access for no other reason than to try to defend his actions.

If anyone was wondering Teppo posted something useful in a Rdm topic in 2006.
