So I see someone in Lower Jeuno shouting they are looking for Promyvion-Mea Crag Mission. Whoo-hoo! I think, and I ask if they need a WAR/NIN. She says yes.

Then I start asking my questions... and it's not to be elitist, I'm just sick of going with people who don't know what animas are or go with jobs like WHM/BRD or DRG/BLM. :?

So I ask... "Have you done this before?"

She replies "I've done Dem."

So I think, ok fair enough...

I ask "So you know what you're doing?"

She says "I've done Dem and tried Holla but Holla is too hard I've never tried Mea."

I say "Do you have animas?"

she says "no"

I've heard a very skilled party with the right setup can do these without most animas... but like I said I don't want to go unless I'm sure we can win, and I wasn't too sure.

So I politely decline... I say "Nvm.... goodluck ok! ^^"

She says "if u want we can go farm."

And I explain ""Thanks, but I just got G-2 done, and I wanna try to get to level 56 ^^ "

I figure, no big deal, most people are understanding... but before I could further explain (damn wait between typing up a message and hitting the enter button when you're done) she writes

"plz dont waste my time"

I say "lol escause me???"

Well, I actually thought I was saving her time by politely declining, since I didn't really have the desire to go farm for promyvion, head back and forth between Jeuno, and spend my whole night on a not so sure thing... Better to back out now then when the party is formed and the setup looks fishy. So I thought....

Anyways, the convo escalated from there, and Seresa, maybe I caught you on a bad night... but damn girl.... be a bit more polite will you?


Ok, now tell me how wrong I am, I'm prepared for it! And I know this flame is a lot more tame then the ones posted before... this just annoyed me...

I would definitely say that for Proms, if you're going to put all the money needed into it, which can be a lot sometimes esp if you don't have any lvl 30 equipment, you have the right to be picky about who you go with. I wouldn't want to throw away my cash on a maybe, I'd wait for the sure thing to come along. seriously, you WERE pretty polite about it. I'd rather waste her time than my money. If you ask me she's wasting her OWN time by not being prepared before getting started.

I've done it without animas, and it was actually pretty easy.

Set up:

And we actually won it without the smn 2 hr. I had to two hour and kill the mob at t he end though (as a blm).

By any chance did you have any Animas Excim? I mean if you said no because they did not have any and you had none of your own that doesn't kind of make you a jerk? I mean they needed to farm them and you who didn't have any just wanted to leech off them and when you found out it might cost you more time than you bargained for you backed out. Thats IF you didn't have any animas of your own.

But still I don't think it was very nice to waste her time. Its hard enough getting people to do missions and then to have someone ask 50 questions and then finally back out because they don't want to farm neccesary items, its a bit frustrating. I had a brd ask the same thing this afternoon to me and because our party was level 29-31 and he was 28 he refused even after I told him the experience we were getting was awesome and it was. And guess what? I told him the same thing. Don't waste my time. Why? If you are going to string someone along with 50 questions you probably didn't want to join in the first place and you were only wasting someone's time.

Your opinion is certainly your opinion, can't fault you for that. But, I do have my own animas, my own X-Potions, my own Regen drinks, my own Holy Waters, Eye Drops, and so on and so forth. I'm am completely prepared for this quest. I wasted nobodies time, it took all of 5 mins, and I decided that her party might not be for me.

I've spent about 100k or so for this trip... to just go to one crag. Say what you want, but I'd rather be over prepared than under. And like I said... if a 5 min convo with someone translates into "wasting you time" and allowing you to just be rude... Maybe you don't have time to be playing a game after all? Just my thoughts on the matter. :wink:

after knowing how long youve prepared for this.

And yes lavi, excim is very prepared for these missions. And has been waiting for the right time, i dont blame him for asking 50 questions to make sure the people knew what they were doing, i wouldnt wanna waste the time preparing for something just to fail cause some one didnt research and prepare accordingly.

I myself, knowing what its like to fail an unprepared promyvion understand, and finally i waited till i found some good players, and went and completed all the promyvions using just 6 people. Excim knows this, and he knows whats required to win from me helping him understand the tactics.

He wasted no ones time. He was prepared, they were not. simple as that.

I woulda asked the exact same questions, cuz when it comes down to it, you may have even saved her some time by pretty much letting her know what kind of things may be needed. You didn't say it flat out, but I could gather from that conversation the goods that I needed to have with me when I finally get these done.

Congratulations on taking your time and not letting jumping on any offer that comes your way, but waiting for one with a little more promise.

You're completely right, because your 5 minutes is much more valuable than my 5 minutes... :roll: If you want me for something, and I'm gonna be spending gil, I'm gonna make sure you're worth it. Imagine if you said yes to every BCNM, PT, Mission, quest, whatever. It wouldn't be all that pretty now, would it?

See, that's what I'm saying. I've wasted a ton of gil and time just taking whatever invite I could get. Chasym taught me to be more patient, and ask these questions. It has no doubt saved me lots of money, time, and frustration.
