Well, I sadly have to leave my beloved Verizon wireless network and am thrust into the dark, cold world of Cingular. I decided that I'd like a MP3 player in my phone so I can have some music with me for jogging or whenever the hell else I'd want to have an mp3 player.

What I'm not sure about is a few things, and maybe some people with mp3 phones can shed some light.

Am I able to just transfer any mp3 I want onto my phone from my PC?

I can't tell the difference between a shitty motherboard sound card and a 300 dollar premium sound card. Am I going to notice shittiness in my mp3 player?

What's the best mp3 phone out there for cingular?

Any help would be appreciated. Trying to sift through consumer reports on such a precise catagory is impossible.

While i'm not sure about the selection from Cingular, make sure you get a phone with at least 512 of internal memory, or one that has expandable memory (as in, you can buy memory cards for it to increase the memory)
Phones like that motorola RAZR only have about 50 megs, which is like, 5 songs. They're nice if you want to set them as ringtones, but not as an actualy MP3 player.

RAZR is pretty shitty if you want to listen to music. I have one, it's great for custom porn backgrounds but not much more. That Samsung A900 looks pretty badass.

Sound quality: spend 100+ on a nice set of headphones, they'll make up for any and all (well, most) shortcomings on your phone. The stock earbuds for almost anything are pretty reliable in the shitty department. If you don't mind packing a set of full-sized headphones, Sennheiser is a great brand to look at. Most of theirs are open-air design, so mildly quieter but noticably greater sound quality.

I was going to just get blue-tooth for a headset. As for the memory, seems like most come with SD Cards or something along those lines. Just wondering, though, if the entire mp3 player angle is worth it in the end - from people who own mp3 phones, through a good pair of headphones is it decent quality?

MP3 phones are for people who dont carry around both. I already have a PSP, so i'm set on the music end of everything. I just got a MP3 phone so i could set ringtones.

And yeah, anything that comes with an SD card is expandable, so you can put as much music on there as you're willing to spend on memory.

on Quality, They're usualy compareable to a midrange MP3 player. They're not amazing, but they hold thier own. Altho any of the Sony Erickson walkman phones are prety good. But they're almost MP3 players with phone options anyways
