I am currently in the market for a new mp3 player. I had a Creative Zen Micro Photo, which I loved. Unfortunatly, Boxy (the mp3 player) wasn't as unbreakable as i thought she was, and is no longer with us.

Creative makes some great mp3 players, but I was wondering if there was something out there I'm missing.

My top two right now are the Creative Zen Vision M, or a Zune.

Do any of you own a Zune that can comment on it? I know the internet is full of bad reviews of it, but I don't want to trust something I find on some site. A lot of Apple/iPod fans get kinda territorial and I honestly think a lot of that shit is just there to spite Microsoft.

Thanks in advance.

Great site to look at competing products. If only it had more iPod bashing, it'd be my homepage at work and home.

I have a SanDisk Sansa 260 (4gb) and am quite pleased with it. Got it for $160 cdn, came with the accessory kit and all. The interface is easy enough to navigate, the only thing I don't really like about it is the inability to have multiple playlists. However you don't need any special software to put music on it (plug it in, drag & drop) and you can also put porn on it, so it satisfies all my criteria.

I loved my creative zen micro, but it has a huge manufacturing problem history; and after the hard drive in it died after 18 months(3rd hardware problem btw), I swore off creative mp3 players forever. My sister has had all of the problem I have had except for the hard drive failure, but her's is only a year old so it might still happen.

I have a ipod nano now and I'm loving it, my dad got an ipod video which I'm wishing I had bought myself.

The biggest problem with zune that I heard was that you can't use your already paid-for music(assuming you didn't just pirate it all) with it, that you'd have to rebuy everything.

Thanks for the link, CmdrFly. That's exactly the type of site I was looking for.

Paid-for-music like bought online and downloaded or cds I've bought? Almost all of my music is from cds I own, and the rest is **coughpiratedcough** I have never used iTunes or anythign like that, so I don't think that would be a problem.

Delsus - I use my phone and my mp3 player way too much to have it on the same battery. I like the idea of only using one thing to do both, but unless they make a magic super battery that runs on love, I'm probably gonna stick to two different products. Thanks for the suggestion though.

Well maybe not love, but they have working models of batteries that recharge on oxygen. Though they're still waiting for testing and approvals to push it to manufacturers I believe. Haven't heard much on that patent/technology/wang in a couple of months.

Cmdr I am in the same situation I blew out my earplugs from my Zen. Now I have had it almost a year now, and the ear plugs I have don't work with it unless I press down. Its always been like that since i bought the earplugs and there is nothing wrong with the plugs because they work perfectly in everything else. Altho I have never really had a problem with it just the fact the sound jack is jacked up some how. Who the heck knows good thing I did not register the player when I got it a year ago.

I like my Zune.
