There's no need to provide evidence they hack other MMO's. My point is, that's small potatoes for an international organization to focus resources towards. I mean, if I were originally from Africa or SE Asia I would be pissed that the money that could be spent on poverty and AIDS prevention is going to make sure a couple of people don't get their video games taken away from them.

Well, most people only think of themselves, so if you were from Africa, I'm sure if you can afford a computer, and a monthly fee that's a substantial amount of what a lot of people make per months, odds are you won't suffer from those problems

Esanlu is suspicious as well. If he is not involved with my account being hacked, then he could be suspected of robbing someone else's items. From Dec. 3rd to the Prism Cape sold on Dec. 5th, this character sold items that I owned as well, however the inconsistency is that Esanlu and Tamasa sold several HQ Staves that were the same. Here is a link to his auction house activity.

Esanlu is a hume female with a black pony tail. I saw "her" stand outside Port Jeuno while she traded Thewolf's gear. Sandy Aketon and nothing else on.

I think some of the gear sold off is yours and Thewolf's, He had 8/8 HQ staff and a Genie weskit. Plus whatever else the creeps stole of his melee gear. idk.

To address what Zylia was talking about, selling characters/items onine is not illegal, it is only against policy. SE cannot sue you for example if you sell your character on eBay, the just retain the right to suspend the account. Therefore, it does have monetary value.

don't want to undermine the theft outlined in this thread, but i wanted to point out i've made a petition concerning this and other thefts, and i believe it's completely relevant.

this applies to pretty much all of us so i'd like to encourage everyone to read it and support it if they agree.

You can't legally sell what you do not own and U.S. courts across the board would consider the characters, items, pictures, etc related to FFXI and POL to be the intellectual property of Square-Enix.

I have gone round and round with SE since 11 am Cst no one can help me CC info was changed but my address and everything is still there. Last Guy i talked to i gave him a list of people who are possibly selling people's gear on quetz .
Not sure if it helped but he supposedly sent it off to "taskforce" so hopefully for everyone that lost a character we get them back.

Add Arrikk to that list too. He's selling stuff from my mules as well as some other peoples gear. Don't bother wasting your time with SE's CSR's either. They aren't going to do anything no matter what you say. Gotter is the only one I know of that got lucky and got someone to change his PW without them checking the CC info. In case you want to try you luck at getting someone like that when you call back apparantly once you have made your initial call they flag you in the system so you can't keep trying to get the nice CSR like he did.

I've reported Mamasha and Arrikk to the STF as well as sent complaints to every division I can think and nothing's happening. It doesn't seem like we have any other options other than those that want to try to get an attorney. Someone on BG mentioned contacting the Internet Crime Complaint Center but if you look at their forms you couldn't really fill them out truthfully since there isn't really a legal monetary value that was taken. I'm not sure what else to do myself but suck it up and deal with it.

Legit players can hack accounts, too.

By no means am I suggesting he neccesarily did, I'm just saying being a legit player (as opposed to RMT) doesn't mean he isn't the culprit.

When you register the game with the content ID, You own the manual where the content ID is printed. If you faxed a copy to SE headquarters, wouldn't that establish your ownership rights?

There's quite a few things they could do to establish that you were the true owner they just don't care enough to bother. Their policy is that if you don't know the new CC number then there is nothing they will do to help you. They don't really question that you are the true owner or that what you're telling them isn't 100% true they just don't believe it's their responsibility to do anything about it.
