My Account was Hacked :(

Gil and items can be replaced much more easily than your character. Consider yourself extremely lucky. Few weeks - a month of farming (i don't know how much you can farm nowadays) and everything will be replaced.

I sincerely hope SE becomes more proactive about their Customer Service and policies. :rtfm:

I know i'm lucky to have my char with me but, farming like 3m gear naked is hard , i'm not complaining or anything, but i dont feel like doing 1 year 6 month work again,and most of my gil that i did was from Teleport quest,SleepgaII,and that kind of non-repeteable quest, its unfair to do farm again for what i worked 1 year 6 months again.

Found him again at Zi'tah in person. /slapped him and shouted... he responses by Mijin Gakure and HPs.

Report your account as hacked. SE said they are currently deciding what to do about the situation, and that they believe RMT's are behind it. So most people will likely get their accounts back, and they were also talking about some kind of compensation, or even character roll-back, although I'd consider that unlikely. But if there's even a 1% chance they'll do it, you might as well report your account hacked.

Irony!.

No I got my laptop from TigerDirect.com It has all the preinstalled manufacturer stuff on it and I took to Best Buy where I used to work so they can look at it (they did for me for free ^^) They found the virus when they installed things for me that I needed.

that was your mistake right there... id wager a guess and say that it was Geek Squad that looked at your computer and found the virus... they are notorious for being less then computer savvy, just salesmen that took some very basic computer training
 
Yay! Some progress! According to BG, PoL representatives are now being able to restore accounts based off of old CC info and other personal info. I hope I get the same service when I call back Monday ^^

Well at the time they looked at it (I'd say I'm more computer savvy than some of them but I actually had a good agent that knows his stuff really well and I only wanted him to look at it). I took it to him early before we opened one day. He told me it was fine but there was a program that AVG and PC-Cillin warned him about. So we removed all the preinstalled stuff and reinstalled what I wanted on there. I use AVG now. Better than PC-Cillin

Called PoL today, and the representative took the additional info and said he hopes the superadvisor will be able to call me this week, but that if not, he WILL for sure call.

He didn't actually confirm whether or not it would be frozen, but he did say that it is under review.
 
I must say that this thread just makes it look like everyone hates each other on this server....i had never met you in game jussy but i do feel sorry for you...it is a bitch losing your chara...heck i am only a 57 smn and i would literally kill someone if i lost my char...

That's because they do. Mostly.

I heard a few peole who got hacked had their accounts banned since it was used by RMT. I wonder what if anything SE will do for those people. And good luck to those with hacked accounts, hope you do get them back and if lucky, your items as well.

Yeah I myself would be devestated, I wouldnt be able to start over and I would have to abandon alot of friends.

Jussy, did you get your account locked? I didnt see the fake Jussy online for a while and ffxiah does not show them selling something past the 8th Jan.
