My Account was Hacked :(

I was told they couldnt lock it upon request, but maybe they did it on their own for whatever reason they need in order to do it.
 
Consider this rash if you will but isnt suspending (if not permanently then temporarily) your account a way to show you, the players, you're serious about this? i mean you dont have to necessarily give up in process but you can certainly reinforce the message that you will not stand for this. as cliched as it is, money talks. You can certainly reinforce the notion that if they wont help you, then you have other means to handle this. I know that this first involves quitting which is oh-so-difficult and , second, doesnt mean you're letting the people get away with it. ive been reading so much of what you guys are talking about and really hope for a speedy resolution but you guys really can get to PoL by keeping it up.

Well, currently none of us are being charged, as the hacked accounts are getting their CC info changed; so we have no money to talk with D: Or do you mean quit once we get the account back? If so, I see where you're coming from, but if I get Jussy back, I'm definitely going to play some more. I wouldnt have played for over three years if I didnt really enjoy it :O)
 
If its any consolation at all 2 of my friends got their accounts hacked this week also if it hasnt already been posted about. 1 isnt getting theirs back and the other might today or tomorrow depending on SE's retardness
 
Im honestly bothered by the lack of responsiveness AND responsibility on SE's part. Their inability to achieve any form of result that benefits all these people who had this happened to is so incredibly pathetic it really exposes the ineptitude of these companies. Im curious how any of other of the MMO's would handle this kind of a situation.

Effective immediately, the PlayOnline Information Center will begin assisting those customers who have lost access to an account due to it being compromised. Through identity confirmation, the PlayOnline Information Center will be returning account access to the original registrant. This process is currently going into effect to help restore account access to the original registrant as quickly as possible. Once access has been regained, the customer will then be able to seek reimbursement for lost items per our current item restoration policy.

Please contact the PlayOnline Information Center immediately should you find you have lost access to an account. We cannot guarantee we can assist everyone in these cases, but we will attempt to restore account access when possible. Additionally, by contacting us as soon as possible, it will allow us to take action to limit changes to the account, and help restore access to the original registrant as quickly as possible.

According to BG, its just a smokescreen, and only for NEWLY compromised accounts, which allows them to bypass the "supervisor" and go straight to the investigation team.

AND on top of all that you get to pay for the notary public, pay for UPS/FedEx, and pay for certified letter status lol.
 
Accounts are supposed to be untransferrable. By giving control of an account bact to the person that can prove they originally registered it, they kill the sale of accounts in one fell swoop. Noone will buy an account anymore, when the original owner can just take it back at any time.

It's pretty silly they haven't been doing it from the start.
 
I think my account got hacked to

I think my account got hacked to cause i looked on ffxiah.com and saw afew servers with my name listed for last year and the strange thing about this is that I was not even on last year unless my account got hacked without me knowing cause my computer was not compatible with the game thin cause when i got back like a few days ago someone in the ls sead i was a account buyer and called a GM on me and put my account under investigation under false accusations. in any case it seems like whoever hacked my account moved my character to different servers and when they were done with it they moved it back and set my billing info back to way it was however it surprising that square would alow this im calling square tomorrow and see whats going on this is just not acceptable the strange part about it is is that my Jujistu gi my Oshudo kotes and Walkure mask was still in my inventory however my gluttony sword, knightly mantle and all my warrior stuff was sold wish I know i diden't sell when i left the game.
 
1. Your name is only unique to this server. There's nothing strange about your name being used on another server.
2. It's pretty unlikely that someone would hack you, server hop onto a number of servers, sell your WAR gear and then give you your account back.
3. Your gear probably went with whoever else had your account info. Seems like one of your friends was playing as you.
