Well to begin this post ill give some back ground information. They day before yesterday which was Monday I ran into 2 other 75 Corsairs and we all started talking. We ended up going out into the Woodlands I believe and started killing stuff. One of those said Corsairs had a Corsair's Scimitar. After watching it in action, I decided that I wanted it.
So I scoured the interweb looking for info on this mob and well there wasnt much. But, I didnt give up hope, I packed up my bags and headed out into the Reef.
My target for this adventure was Lamia No. 7. After walking around in the Reef for awhile I found her spawn location. She was up as I had presumed since she is a besieged mob.
Now that I had found the vixen I had to get help. What I originally thought was gonna take maybe a few hours ended up taking all day. No one could immediately come out so i patiently waited. Around the third hour of waiting a random party passed by, but after talking to them they where to busy to help.
So I continued to wait. finally after the 6th hours of waiting a BST friend of mine had finished EXPing and said he could help. I had read previously that he could be soloed by BST/NIN. So as I waited for him to get out into the field with me I grew ecstatic, I was gonna get my sword and all the waiting would pay off.
ROUND 1
No.7 spawns near a Mirror so she had 2 Palace Guard NM wondering around with her. My BST friend got a clean pull and we pulled her back to the a safe area away from the Qutrub. Things start going well until I (RDM at the time) drew to much hate curing the BST after a Gouge fest. I ended up dieing, death number 1. So I homepoint back to Whitegate and go back out.
But before I get there the BST had a miss hap when the Lamia charmed his leech and he died.
Round 1 Winner: Lamia No.7
ROUND 2
We reraised and tried something different. We cleared out the 4 imps next to us and charmed/familared a kraken mob. The BST went and pulled No. 7 again and let his kraken die as he pulled one of the guards also.
So things are going a lot better this time. We have plenty of leeches and things are fine and dandy. Then disaster struck. The BST got trapt in a corner after trying to lure No. 7 away from the next leech and got hit with Silence. Then after trying to get NO.7 to move spots again got to much hate and couldnt target her and died. Then I proceeded to get raped also.
Round 2 Winner: Lamia No.7
So we HPed and I had to go eat dinner. After 3 hours I come back and change to my 75Cor and head back out alone. I get back out there and of course I see her walking around with guards as usual.
So I continue to wait for more people to come help. Three hours pass and finally my PLD friend gets on and says he will help and I ask a RDM friend who brings 2 NIN with her. So we all gather out there and my hopes start to rise again. PLD/WAR, NIN/WAR. NIN/WAR, RDM/WHM, COR/RDM, this has to be able to kill her.
Round 3
We buff up and clear the Qutrubs out so we can fight her. WE pull her with out links and start to go to town. THings are looking good shes at 70% when all hell breaks lose. Two of the Qutrubs respawn and aggro us. As you can imagine death ensued.
Round 3 Winner: Lamia No. 7
So we all HP since the Qutrubs are back and we run back out. For those keeping track this is the 3rd time ive died so far.
Round 4
We once again clear the Qutrubs and get a clean pull back to the boat this time. Things are once again going good until about 80%. AOE charm goes off and hits everyone but our poor RDM. Though she tried to sleep us she got spanked into the ground.
We all uncharm and Lamia No.7 walks back home.
Round 4 Part 1 Winner: Lamia No.7
We wait for the RDM tog et back to full and we pull again. But this time one of the guards link so one of our NINs takes one for the team and dies. We manage to pull No. 7 back to the boat and start to fight. 60% comes around guess what AOE Charm happens and our RDM is just outside the range. Well she manages to sleep the PLD and myself but goes down to the NIN and No. 7.
I become uncharmed and unslept and along with the NIN and we start to fight. The RDM reraises and the NIN goes down. I am desperatly trying to cure the PLD to wake him up but HE FELL THROUGH THE DAMN ROCK. So finally right before the RDM dies the PLD vokes and gets hate.
We then proceed to keep fighting with the RDM and Myself and the PLD trying to survive on almost 0 mp. We get her down to 50% before the PLD goes down to a 8 barrage of Hysteric Barrage. So we wipe again
Round 4 Winner: Lamia no. 7
At this point one of the NINs a leader of a linkshell calls down a BRD. So we wait for the BRD.
Round 5
The BRD gets there and we buff up. We get a clean pull and we start fighting. about 80% hits and one of the NINs goes down to a Hysteric Barrage fest. His death brings out Lamia No. 19, and we proceed to keep fighting. She eventually links and we wipe.
Round 5 Winner: Lamia No. 7
The BRD has to go and the Leader of the Linkshell calls out more people. The full setup ends up being a 12 person alliance. We have a RDM, WHM, BRDx2, MNK, BLU, PLD, NIN, RNG, MNK, SAM, COR.
Round 6
We clear the Qutrub and get a clean pull on No.7. We zerg into her like a Galka into a Tarutaru buffet line. At around 30% our RNG goes down after pulling to much hate and eating a Hysteric Barrage fest. She finally goes down in a blaze of weaponskillz.
Round 6 Winner: QUETZALCOATL
Unfortunatly the sword didnt drop.
Overall Winner: Lamia No.7
