My FIRST attempt at cel-shading.

Tribute to my idol:

this was my first time trying cell, so please constructive critiscism only >.>

took this very popular image, put a very rough sketch layer on top, changing some stuff, like his headscarf thing, which i thought looked weird, his hair, and made his gun bigger, and look a little more like cerberus. after that i did the lineart and colored and shaded from there. if any1 wants to see the sketch layers i made to see how i started let me know.

i learned alot of techniches i could have done while making it, but didnt do them because i would have to start from scratch. might do tifa for my next attempt.

wasnt sure weather or not to do a background. was looking for a nice landscape but couldnt find a good one that matched so i just maid one in 2seconds.

It's not bad, you could do more shades and highlights to bring more depth to the picture

i think i only like how i did the hair, and even that i couldve done better. yea i think ill have to do more shading if i do tifa, shes got more um.... curves... lol

I would suggest either leaving the back round white, or put something in it to show depth like he said. To give it more depth. Foreground, Middleground, and something else lol. Other then that. I know I can't do something like that. So keep it up and work on it a bit more and it should be good. His pants seem a little high too. Touch that up too?
