My First BCNM, aka Getting F-ed in the A[M]

Well, I was gonna let this slide, but the events of the past few days really fucking pissed me off.

I'm a Paladin, so I don't do BCNMs, but a guy shouted about need a Paladin, so I said What the hell. The plan was for me to tank Flayer so that he would drag everyone in the circle in the worms turn(little did I know this was a death sentance).

There were 6 of us: Me, Warwick, Neveah, Stubbs, Darkstar, and Drunken. The plan was that since 5 of us had orbs, we go through and sell the drops for our orbs, splitting the profit. I didn't have a problem with this since I had an Orb, so I would be taking home stuff to sell anyway.

Well, when I traded the orb, my team became retarded, and almost everyone died. Needless to say, I got natta

So, we did it 4 times, with me dying 3 times and even de-lvling. Warwick, Neveah and Darkstar got treasure.

Then, two people ran out of time.

Well, after not getting paid for a few weeks, I figured I was screwed. C'est la vie, you live you learn. Then, last night, I didn't even notice I was in a party with Darkstar, when all of a sudden, Drunken trains the party in a retalitory strike. As the tank, I save the party(execpt Darkstar, who was allready dead) at the cost of my own life.

Being that I'm now getting pissed, I message Neveah and Warwick. Warwick's reply? Since no one else sent money, I'm not getting screwed. Of course, his drop was the motherload(Utsemmi and Erase).


So, the tally for my first forray into BCNM:
4 Deaths, about 1500-2000 xp
-40 seals
about -200,000 profit
I think I'm gonna just b-list the lot of em.

It happens alot really. Not getting as much money as was said, not getting ANY money. I always asks a few questions before I do a BCNM with random people. It's usually:

How is the treasure getting split?
What happens if someone dies on their orb and we were not able to get the treasure?(If the system is "Your orb, your loot")
Who will be selling the items?(If it's all gonna be sold and split equally)
What's the current set up?
Who is in this BCNM PT?

And any other information you can want. AS MUCH information as you can get rather. It's pretty stupid that you have to go through all that just to make a decent buck.

As a BST I occasionally got random invites to do BCNMs, but always turned them down. Just doesn't seem wise to do these kinds of things without friends or LS mates that you can somewhat trust. Far, far too many asshats in this game, and the ones that aren't asshats probably aren't going to be randomly inviting people to join them.

Eh at least Neo had a log lol. I also got jipped. There's no excuse for being a fucking ass... Neo got crappy as hell drops, and the dude STILL SPLIT HIS DROPS WITH ME. Talk about being honest, Neo is one of the best people in my friend circle and one I trust a lot,lol.

Warick is a fckin thief then if he got the good drops and aint splitting.Everytime u do bcnm the first orb is mostly wasted since u dont know much about and ppl die.WHo ever uses his orb gets a share in it.

every one gets Gil from selling drops divided by ppl who used orbs (Even if u died that turn) .if some bich doesnt wanna split then he is a pure thief and asshole w/e u wanna call.

The one Neo is talking about is a BCNM 60 we did, 6 quadav and it was pretty easy. We won 4/6 times I think it was, or was it 3/5? I don't remember. I guess I'll just stick to going with friends.. Or maybe me Svina and aeria can go do those pots again, and hope we get some D ingots. I did it with I think it was aeria and a rdm and we owned that wind pot.

No one ever sent me any tells regarding a split or share except neo and wak, and after I was told I should keep my share, that's when I sold my items except raiseII. If somewhere something was missed and you feel you were jipped, just let me know what other items besides raiseII I got and would gladly pay out shares to everyone (if you forgot as did I what misc drops I got, I'll just assume misc stuff worth 20k), I never got any shares from anyone, that plus being told I should keep my share, made me do just that.

The point is not about giving about what other people did or did not do, it's about doing the RIGHT thing.

If I was war's position, even had everyone else kept their share, WITHOUT HAVING TO BE TOLD SO SINCE IT WAS AGREED BEFOREHAND, I'd sell my stuff and send everyone (maybe minus the greedy bastards) their share. Of course Neo told you to keep your share, why not everyone else did. The who thing was screwed up, being the good guy he is he probably didn't want to basically destroy any of the profit you made on his, mine or the drk who also got nothing's behalf. Should you of send the stuff anyways? Probably. But it doesn't matter now, that was so long ago and now that we had this conversation, sending anyone anything would be a usless token act since if you had really meant to do the right thing you would of done it long ago.

And there's no "feeling jipped", we've been jipped, simple. Us three but our efforts into the group's sucess, and we had agreed BEFOREHAND to split any profit should we fail. Had I been told, or anyone else maybe, that that would not be the case I would of not wasted me seals. But telling everyone basically "Don't worry, your 60 seals is a safe investment, because unless we all lose you'll be walking away with something" and then giving them nothing shows a lot about the type of people war and company are. Whatever your intentions or beliefs where, your actions spoke a very different tune.

BCNM is a really good way to make cash, but those seals don't drop like water man, I threw away 60 seals while being lied to what the conditions are. However, I'm glad that war and company leeched on my life (we did spend a good amount of time there, hours I believe) and managed to make some profit off of me, and to boot set me back 60 seals. Anyone else need a bitch? Because I'm open.

Anyways, I don't trust people with BCNM anymore, if someone invites me and I -do- accept, they have to make me leader and I WILL quarter master. If they have a problem with that, they can go screw themselves.

I really don't know how to reply, mainly because yes, much of what you say makes sense, this did happen long ago and I don't remember exact details, again, I'm not sure if it was neosquall, but I'm about 90% sure it was him, I kept in contact with him for the week after, if you asked my tone of voice when talking to him I'll assure you he'll acknowledge I had every single intention of paying up until I was told to just keep it. Should I have kept it at that point? no, I really shouldn't of, but no one's the world's perfect angle greed got over me, but never did I feel I was ripping you off or anything of that nature, one of the main reasons of course was no one ever sent me any tells asking a simple "Where's my share?". Again, yes I should of split it without anyone even needing to ask me, but the one person I did talk to probably didn't even get enough money from his drops to cover the cost of food/arrows/shihei etc.. and he told me to keep mine. I listened mainly because a large part of me really wanted to just keep it.

I took a short video using fraps midfight for fun, I dug it up and wrote down all the names, each person got 33,333k (even wak), aka 200k, raiseII is going for like 180k and misc drops add the other 20k, useless token or not, I sent it out, late or on time, whatever you belive this clears my personal concience. If you or anyone who gets their share and doesn't want it, give it to some random person in valkurm or something, because if you send it back I'll just drop it.

Whatever my actions spoke, or probably even the defensive tone my words above my had have, I ask one thing: Please forgive me, I'm very sorry.

Anyways, after the BCNM wak or whoever mumbled something about the shares I believe, to tell the truth from then I knew I had been screwed, and I took it for what it was. What could I do? I'm not going to whine about my share, you knew VERY WELL what we agreed on because wak and I made sure everyone verbally agreed to it before we did the BCNM. I didn't have to ask for my share, and what I did was wait. It was neo who sent me a tell, no one else. And he was wondering why we havn't gotten our share, and suspected we got jipped. He went off to talk to the bard, and later sent me a /tell that the bard had sold the items and used the money. Big surprise.

Since I got no money whatsoever, I assumed everyone jipped us, and it was true. Neo was pretty pissed, but he came and gave me some rocks anyways... my share of his drops. It was funny lol, but It said a lot about him, a lot of good things. I promptly forgot about it, Neo had tried to get the propor shares dished out but I didn't want to waste my time, what would I do anyways? Demand I get my fair share out of their own pockets, make them farm for my share? Tell them I hate them? Call a GM? Ha, don't make me laugh. I couldn't do a damn thing, so I left it alone and marked them as bad people. Which thinking about it now, was really only you and the bard, since hyre didn't want anything and didn't bring an orb, and me and the drk failed, and Neo gave out his shares.

I see people in 3 ways, people who I know, respect, consider friends. People I really don't know but I have nothing against, the common joe you might meet for the first time in a pt or something. True. Very true. I'll admit that yes, all I'm trying to do is make myself not feel guilty, to clear my conscience, and yes that's not the world's best reason to pay back the shares. I know that I did do the wrong thing, and I let greed get over me, nothing can change that. But I do want you to know that I am very truly sorry, and given the same choices I would not repeat my actions, if words aren't enough, ask of anything, I'm willing to show that whatever you feel I may have meant, done, or whatever, it's not my current sentiment and I can also fully understand if you feel that it is unforgivable.

This is why you don't do bcnm's with random people. First off 6 people should be 6 orbs, we did 4 which was not the original agreement. Secondly no one else sent out any money. I told the person who invited me that I would not join a gruop doing bcnm that I did not know and distribute money before it was sent to me. That is how I go about it because I've been screwed over before. So why call out only me? No one else sent out any money. Am I doing the wrong thing? I don't think so. If you're going to raise the issue mention everyone involved.
