Putting a little timer in the corner of the screen would be helpful...I'm sure that would remind people to get their butts in gear.
My enm static actually had that happen to it one time. We finished killing the Sheep in Antlion's Clothing mob finally, knew we were close on time, went to open, and it disappeared and booted us right before we could. We probably killed it at exactly the ending time...really sucked...so I feel your pain.
I hope you have better luck next time! And, like Sneaky said, it prolly didn't have anything in it anyway >.> just tell yourself that to make yourself feel better about it.
