Latley I have been on this little anti-leveling phase and have been having fun killing everything in giddeus with my thf and I have noticed I am getting a large amount of bead necklaces and other wonderful drops, My idea is to farm these necklaces for other people at a set rate of 250 Gil each. That way the customer does not have to deal with paying upwards of 500 gil for one necklace. the problems I have seen for this scheme is:

Time: I am not always able to sit on my computer to farm up 350+ necklaces for seven hours. maybe 3-4 hours at a time at most.

Space: They dont stack. So I would have to make devliveries every 30 or so necklaces I get.

Profit: I have noticed that people end up paying about 36-40k in the end for all these necklaces. But for me to farm them would it be worth it to sell them directly to one private customer if they had the cash? I am not spending any gil whats so ever so there is no loss not even AH TA fee's.

Job Hazards: Well since I am a level 18 thief wandering Giddeus there are still areas farther in I will get aggro so I put myself at risk of being killed if I absolutley need to pick things up and go farther into Giddeus. I will probably have to get my warrior back to level 30 in order to take full advantage of the zone but i still get alot of drops just in fist 500 ft of Giddeus.

As you can I have done a little bit of research on it but I still need to see if it would be worth my time, And now since I brought this into the light I may have ruined some other peoples operations that are simular to mine or exactly the same and just lost it all to a free loading forum skimmer who doesnt take his time to voice his opinion and get known in the community, But back to the point I just need some opions.

I say if someone is willing to buy any neaklaces you are willing to spend time collecting, go for it. Its not really any different from putting them up on AH, you are cutting out the middle man and moving things along more swiftly. Plus its not as if you are ripping them off by offering a set price that could be lower than AH prices.

whats to stop someone from buying them for 250 and reselling at AH for 500?

A few things

1. There are only 7 spots on the AH, unless you have mules.
2. If there is a constant fresh supply of necklaces, those at 250 will always sell before those at 500.
3. The reaction of those who'll put a bid for 300 gil and still not get the necklaces. They most likely are going to go "what the foo, I'll go farm them myself."
4. And if it does sell at 500 gil, everyone will be jumping on that money-making scheme, thus increasing competition. As soon as it'll take days for their necklaces to sell, they most likely will free up their AH space for more worthwhile wares to sell, or drop the prices back to more manageable levels.

Most often I think 250 is even kind of pricey. I usually see 200 at the AH.
I am helping supply a friend of mine at 200/necklace.

Then again, he's a friend.

If you can get 250, more power to you. I think it's a good thing, and it can definitely work.

well also doing all that farming and trading off necklaces builds up tenshodo fame huge time. Which will allow you to get some pretty nice ninjitsu scrolls from doing the quests in Norg. Like Utsusemi: Ichi and Hojo: Ichi for example that is about 160k right there 8)
