Ok, to start off, I'm quite proud of that topic title, despite its disturbing other meaning. Just so it makes sense, I'm sick with a fever today.

Now then:

Having been a bit burnt out on BLM lately, I decided to take my WHM for a spin. I finally pick up a Phial (I'm level 28), and some other Misc. equips and spells I'll need, and head out to Kazham.

So, I wait around a bit, and get a PT. Something was suspicious about the 26 DRK in the PT, but I figure I may as well give it a shot. So, I show up , and am ready to cry.

We're taking 4 minutes to kill a mob, and getting at the most 1500 EXP an hour! Learn something: If you can't deal damage, you can't level! Oh well, I guess it's at least something. But wait! After the first pull, our THF zones 2 Gobs after we'd attacked one. . . To the far off zone. 0_O If that wasn't bad enough, they come back (I hadn't realized she'd done this, as we'd spent the whole first fight while the THF was apparently zoning) to attack me because I'm resting. I get absolutely nothing in the way of vokes, and go down in 3 or 4 hits!

I get a raise, we get back to it. It's taking FOREVER to kill the mobs, but at least we're killing them. Until, of course, a gob pops, and the NIN tries to zone it. But, the ineptitude of our THF DOES NOT FAIL! Determined to try and do EVERYTHING on her own, she shouts "STOP!" And attempts to grab hate off the voke so that s/he can Flee-zone the gob! Of course, the NIN could've made it with his shadows, but GOD FORBID she not be the center of attention! So I end up giving a cure to the NIN, attempting to keep him from dying because of the fact that we've waited for 15 seconds for the THF to get some damned hate. Of course, the amount of hate generated by her 1-4 damage attacks is so LITTLE that I grab hate, and get smacked around and die. AGAIN.

Our THF warps to Jeuno, and I get a raise. Lo-and-behold, the leader and NIN sit around at zone whining about how nobody will help them kill the gobs instead of looknig for a replacement. Eventually, the gob got killed, and then the NIN suggests "Hey, let's kill a mandy, even though we've only got 5 people and we could barely do it with 6!" I shutdown right there.

God I hate Yhoator. . .

Marienkind - For her self-centered, PT destroying play.

Hmmm...I usually see Marienkind in Ballista (the ones i go and watch at least >.>;) I think she is quitting soon. Well maybe not everyone is cut out to be a thf ><.

WHM *shudders* so glad I retired that job. I can't believe I was actually stupid enough to KEEP PLAYING IT to lvl 42.

One thing about having like 20-30k tnl is that i don't get too pissed anymore when i die in places like that. you make up your loss in like 2-3 fights rather than losing 2-3k.

I dunno, I've just come to accept the fact that wherever you go, whatever you do, 90% of the pts you get into are going to be crap. Once you accept it it makes the game much more enjoyable hahahahaha.

I agree with this philosophy completely. We all play each of our characters differently. So we aren't all going to mesh into the perfect party EVERYTIME. So just do what I do. Chat! :lol: Get to know your fellow players! Sure, XP is slow, but no sense getting upset. Your here to play a game, and your playing it. You'll enjoy yourself more often then not if you have this mentality.

And if you want quick XP... let your party members know that it isn't working out for you, and you'd like to bow out. Find a replacement if necessary, and go find another party. :wink:
 
Slow xp parties are usually an odd mix of jobs. Ones you don't see playing together a lot. Although, if you look and watch they teach you things.

My last jungles party was a long time ago:

War/Mnk *Me*
Drk/War
Smn/Blm
Blm/Whm
Whm/Blm
Thief/Nin

This was the first time I'd ever been in this 'exact' setup, but damn if I didn't learn a few things:

1. Closing Fragmentation is easy to do in the middle of a fight for more hate, but doing it at the start of the fight with a good SMN turns into a Magic burst competition between them and the BLM. Watching Mandies die 15 seconds into the fight never hurts.

2. Thieves do SICK damage 20-29 if they are well equipped, the Ninja subjob also hints at a little experiance pre-30.

3. This party got the best xp of any I've ever had through the jungles. Was above 10k an hour, so it didn't last very long lol. Sometimes the norm isn't the best.
