Rejoice people, rejoice! I fixed my PS2's Disc Read Error!!!!!!

Well DVD's still won't play but that's why I have my notebook.

I found an awesomely helpful guide at http://arstechnica.com/articles/paedia/hardware/ps2.ars .

It's really helpful with pictures and everything. Good luck to anyone else who tries to fix this annoying problem.

Congrats on getting your PS2 working again. Mine's been having problems since a year ago. I'd like to try this on mine, but I have a few questions though.

First, did your PS2 have an HDD? Mine does and I was just curious if you've had any problems since. It still plays FFXI since thats on the HDD, but not games (so no CoP ).

Second, were you getting "Disk Read Error" or "Cannot Read Disk"? I get the second one, so I'm not completely sure if this will fix that problem or not.
