If anything ditch your macros for equipping staves, it looks like you already take care of that in your spell macros.

By the way, what the heck does /echo do?

Echo is like text that only you can see.

First i'd like to point out something I think is useful in my refresh macro.
Instead of /wait 22, I have /wait 19
and instead of /echo Refresh, I have /recast Refresh

That way, it pops up a little message saying like 2-3 seconds left on the recast. Sometimes if you are spamming the macro trying to get it exactly as its up, the /wait 22 can be a bit off, besides- nice to know a second or so in advance anyways I think.

Also, I assume Set 3 is for blm or something? I like to have drain and aspir macros and have a /recast Drain/Aspir in there so I don't have to go into the spell menu to see how long i have to recast. Bind seems pretty useless, could take that out of there.

i dont think light staff effects regen or flash. plus you cant macro in wise gloves for curga III or regen II or flash. if your looking for mnd gloves devotee's (+1) have more mnk then wise and are cheaper. Hale ring also opens up another slot to macro in a higher INT or MND peice then u can at that level

i macro bind scine it seems to stick better then sleep on demons

You have a lot of redundant equips. I'd suggest making one macro to swap in everything you wear for Cures, one macro to swap in everything you wear for INT enfeebles, one to swap in everything for MND enfeebles, and another for resting.

This way you'll have a much easier time adjusting macros if you ever acquire a l337 piece (elemental ring, something+1, etc). Change your one macro instead of 9.

I think it is much easier to change 9 or 10 macros every time you get a new piece of gear than it is to hit two macros every time i want to start curing someone who is dying.

You can cut + paste a macro line, then just paste>>paste>>paste... etc. Pasting doesn't clear it from your clipboard >.>

Some of the macros lines may not work, cause like prothall said they're just copy pastes. And i feel hitting 2 macros just to cure 1 person is wasting valuable time.

Seems like a lot of macros to me. Just for a note, -na spells, erase, haste and other spells are not effected by +MND so you don't need equip changes and can remove them. You also don't need <me> at the end of equip macros changes, as you can only equip yourself. Like Cmdr said, a lot of it is redundant so you can make a single macros for +INT and one for +MND to save time making the macros; however, this means you'd need a seperate macros for those. It also might be a good idea to put similar enfeebles in a single macro, such as Paralyze and slow into one (both MND based) to conserve space. Likewise for INT based enfeebles as well.

As WHM I have 2 equip macros. 1 for healing, 1 for resting. It gets the job done for me and it really is all I need. If I had more dynamis gear or more situational gear, I might add more in the future, but for now, it's good enough. My BLM; conversly, requires a bit more effort. I have 8 in total for each staff depending on the nuke/enfeeble I need and I switch the body piece in for enfeebles manually if I need it. At later levels, when I get more options, I will likely use more equip changes, but that's a bit into the future. I personally find it easier to cast spells out of the menu and faster as well. So I rarely use macros for anything beyond MP check, DS, ES, Sleep, RR, and a couple more random things which I can't do directly from the magic menu. I have all the spell locations memerized for the most part and the ones I do not, it's not a huge rush to use.

Nice Prothall! I've never known about the /recast command. I will definately use that now in my macros so I know how much longer there is on things. :D

I'm actually kind of embarrassed I didnt know about it. -.-

Not entirely. You can hit the cure macros and then the equip macros after. The equip macros doesn't stop the cure, the equip change will still happen regardless of casting and will effect the cure potency as long as it's done before the cure happens. Same goes for all spells. Not wasting time if you are doing it while casting, the cast time is going to happen either way.

I guess it's a matter of preference. I've become accustomed to hitting my gearswap macros at specific points of spell casts, so this method works good for me.

Considering that some of my gear is based on nation-controlled areas, I'm constantly changing my macros too so just re-pasting edited macro lines half a dozen times would drive me nuts.

How would you use the /echo?
/echo Refresh ready or something?

And with the /recast. How does that work?

Didn't see this said anywhere, but if you want to temporarily take out an equip swap but keep the macro, you can just put in an exta /.

For example, when I go duo BS mobs with my friends on BRD I take my elemental staves with me but I don't want to lose TP every time I use a macro. I just go into my macro and change:
/equip main "Light Staff"
to
//equip main "Light Staff"
and the gear never changes. This allows me to quickly fix the macro if something real comes up.

For /recast,

you would do /recast "Regen"
and it would print Regen [0:30] or something like that.

Thanks man. I'm assuming /echo is pretty much the same thing as in the same type of message?

No idea, I've never used echo.

It's in the same text colour, if that's what you mean. They display completely different outputs though, as ded pointed out.
