Hi guys. Most of you would remember me as a galka named Moist. I was originally with the LS known as, "Sparta" before it hit it's prime peak. I was a galka, and had traveled to Quetz the day transfers were available because I wanted to play with my brother. I loved PVP. I made great friends on this server, and were happy people were so accepting of me.
Then my account was taken away from due to real life circumstances. The girlfriend and I moved in and she wasn't understanding of MMORPG and felt I wasted three years of my life and proceeded to give me an ultimatum. I chose her, of course.
Many months later I came back to Quetz with nothing. I am known as Fail now, because someone took Moist! (cry) my brother took my character to ramuh and sold all my awesome non rare/ex gear and left me with literally nothing. I focused mainly on BLM, and now it's 75. I'm in a great LS with a great group of people who welcome me and my habit of talking too much.
Why am I telling you this?
It took me many months of time away from this game to realize that it is just a game. Take time to enjoy life, and don't get consumed in the black hole that's known as Vana'diel. Believe it or not, this game is fun. People cheat on video games to enhance the play mode. This is a game, people cheat and when you mix other life forms it gets ugly, but ultimately it's a game. It was meant to be fun, and can be. Even end-game can be fun. It doesn't matter if you're ugly, or skinny, short or fat. FFXI doesn't discriminate, but it does cause more realistic damage if you let it. It took me months to realize it, but now I enjoy this game. Happy to play just a couple hours a day is more than enough time, and sometimes I get to play for four. The girlfriend and I worked out our misunderstandings, and I showed her through work, dedication, and priorities that I know what comes first. All of you should, too. Life comes first, this game doesn't win you anything when you go outside. So let your life blossom, and when your life is sweet it enhances the play of this game so much more because you know you're not caught in the drama so many other people you're aiming NOT to be are in.
