Yep, my first place was a small semi-studio apartment, but it had everything I needed, plus a balcony for me to smoke on =D

If he doesn't want to say, fine. No harm at all. I'm interested for the sake of comparing differences between here and there as I've been actively hunting in the housing market for a while. From what I see in his photos something like this can easily cost £150,000 (roughly $235,000) if you want to be anywhere remotely near civilisation.
 
Disability covers 285 dollars of the rent and my mom covers the rest. Really wish I could pay for it myself but alas, I can't. I am not telling the price but it's not cheap nor is it expensive. It's a great price and it's a 1 year lease.
 
Ah I was wondering if you got benefits due to your condition (that you spoke about previously). Nice to hear they're able to help. I look forward to the pics when everything is setup.
 
The money I get from Disability is absolute bullshit. No fucking ill person can live off 300 dollars rent and 800 dollars spending money a month. My medical needs and food alone cost like 1500. If it wasn't for my mom, I'd be fucked.

um... my part of my rent is 269 a month and i spend maybe 300 dollars a month past that... but then again.. i am fairly cheap and had 3 roommates.
 
Dej, I have to eat nonstop to keep my weight up. My food bill at home is 2,000 dollars a month. Granted, not all of that is me. That's why I said my food bill is 1500 a month. I eat like a fucking tank man.

A large number of other CFs I know are like that too. I weigh 125 pounds but eat as if I weigh 400 pounds <_<

I know a 2 bdrm apartment like that here would easily fetch $1100 p/month.

I'm paying $850 for a 1 bedroom. Considering you also have to pay for laundry it probably puts my fixed living expenses at $950 + p/month. That doesn't include groceries, home phone, internet, cable etc obviously. Basic living only.

Myrrh that's a beautiful apartment. Looks very bright & clean.

I hope you enjoy it.

Looks very nice. Don't overwork yourself trying to move in. Make sure you have Len and Darkdominion help you. Can wait to see it when its all finished =)

I have mixed feelings about giant wall-spanning windows though. They're very pretty, but they are inherently limiting on what you can do with the space and make it look "right".

Then again, I'd also live underground and have all my light piped in through periscopes and skylights if given a chance, so I'm probably a bit weird in this respect...
