I dunno man, young girls look older than ever nowadays, and I have no idea why.

When I was about 21, and working the late shift at a restaurant as a cashier, I always talked to the customers since there was nothing else to do during downtimes.

Once I saw this tall (easily 5'8") leggy brunette walk in wearing short shorts and a spaghetti top. She had legs to her neck, was *cough* well-endowed, and acted extremely mature, although shy.

We got to talking, and she had said that she was just in town visiting friends, and that the following Tuesday was her birthday. I asked her "oh, how old?" and she replies simply "I'm gonna be twelve".

Blew ... me ... the ... fuck ... away.

That's funny, an old roommate of mine hooked up with this girl in Mexico.. where drinking is legal pre-21, anyway long story short he found out the next day she was 15. Honestly tho, we were both surprised (well, tbh I told him she looked kinda young w/ the braces).

one of my former friends does this, last i heard he is dating a girl that is 14 going on 15 and he is 19

he's done it for the longest time, girl before that was 13 going on 14 when he was 18

One would think that he'd get asked questions when he shows up to her high school...

I had a friend back in highschool, and at the time she was 16 and dated a 21yr. old for a few years. Her mom was cool with it, and thats what I think it comes down to. Is it right? In my opinon no, but with the consent of the parent regarding their underage kid I guess it is at their discretion.

You kind of have a point there - even so recent as our parent's generation, a college kid dating a mid-high schooler was considered normal. I know certainly that one set of my grandparents got together at that age. Come to think of it, when did all that change?

Adults shouldn't date children, regardless of their maturity (both mental and physical) and I think that's all it comes down to. That's my opinion though, but I'm sure that's the general consensus with society.

umm.. that's stupid... if they are mature mentally and physically there should be no problem. I don't think anyone immature, regardless of age, should get sex/dating/etc cause they won't be able to handle it well and thus it'll just create more problems :| problem is too few ever mature mentally >.> I mean... why can't someone who is mature mentally and physically date another person who's mature mentally and physically? What's wrong with that? The reason it's so wrong to date young people is because everyone makes the assumption that everyone under 18 is immature, they aren't wrong necessarily, because most are very immature and still going to go through many changes... but 18 isn't really the right "mature" age either lol...

God dammit, I clicked the link in your sig anyway ><

Well, it bothered the piss out of me to see 16/17 year old high school juniors taking grown men (sailors and Marines) to my Junior/Senior Prom. It was kinda messed up seeing these guys in dress uniform at my high school escorting jailbait, while wearing a "oh yeah, I'm getting some" grin at the same time.

I don't have a problem with, say, a 20 year-old male or female dating a 16/17 year old, if the parents are ok with it. Shit, my grandparents are 15 years apart. They married when she was 15, in fact (yes, meaning he was 30). They've been married since, and I haven't seen two happier people. They had three daughters, and have led a good life, albeit the hard life of a farmer.

One of my ex-girlfriends ended up dating, and consequently moving in with, a 15-year-old boyfriend when she was 19 (we were 18 when we broke up lol). Her parents, and the parents of the boy, were OK with it. That relationship didn't last, and then she ended up knocked up by a Marine in the area (lol@ my first paragraph).

Age difference isn't really an issue, but more an issue of maturity. If both can handle the relationship as adults, and the underage person's parents consent, then I see no problem with it.

GRANTED: I personally wouldn't consent to my hypothetical 16/17-year-old daughter dating a 30-year-old man.

So hypothetically, its ok for a mature 35 year old to date a mentally/physcially mature 17 year old.

No.

*Edit: In my defence, before people pop about me not knowing anything about this, my Mom and Stepdad are like 15 years apart. I think its nasty.

You're absolutely right. I'm stupid because I agree with the law. It's called statutory rape you dumb bitch. That's what's wrong with it. 20 and dating a 16 y/o is one thing. However, if you can drink legally and the fucking child you are dating can't even buy cigarette's, there is absolutely something wrong with that. How fucking hard is it to wait until they turn 18? I mean, I stay relatively quiet to the amount of stupid you enjoy flooding these boards with, but for you to call someone else stupid gets me. To top it off, you decided to target my opinion with your comment. Now, to address past your first sentence.

You date who you have something in common with. If you're mature, you'll probably date someone mature. However, if you're 20+ and mature, date someone 17+ and mature. 16 and younger is off limits. Have some fucking self respect.

We make the assumption everyone under 18 is immature because you're still making extremely stupid decisions. Maybe when you get older kid, you'll understand this. Simple fact is, I make far better decisions now that I'm 23 then I ever did when I was 18. Also, to further my point here... 18 is not the "right" mature age anyway. 17 is considered the age of consent in most states and in some states it's even 16. However, those are usually the cousin-fucking states.

However, without completely defining the limitations on your post I'll just bring up a case scenario to further prove how you rarely post something with a complete thought. 1) You have no age limitation. Hence, if a 10 year old is physically and mentally mature, she should go date and/or fuck some 25 year old guy. You fail. 2) What if they're mature because they lost a parent or some other type of traumatizing event that's forced the child to essentially grow up quickly and kill their own inner child? Well, there's deep seeded shit wrong with that kid. How bout some older adult who should know better go take advantage of the kid? 3) I mentioned it earlier, but you don't seem to know about something called statutory rape. Look it up.

I've typed this much of a rant, mostly because I'm not about to have you call anyone else stupid. Maybe sometimes you stick your nose in shit you don't understand or even care about just for attention. Either way, no mercy for repeat offenders.

Kotsu can you legally buy alcohol? I totally want in you right now lol.

I'm 23, so yes. I have ID to present you as well. But, if you get me pregnant than you better not abandon me. I don't want to abort. lol

The problem is that in our current society, which stretches back roughly 100 years, we tend to be more nuturing/babying to adolescents. When you look back on thousands of years of history, it definitely favors older men-younger women relationships. The difference is that in those older societies, once a girl or boy reached the age of 12-14 they were considered to be an adult, treated like an adult, and expected to behave like an adult. In the last 10-15 years, the pressures and expectations placed on adolescents has generally tended more towards the adult side of things which is causing some serious social/identity problems. Don't take this the wrong way, I am not advocating 30 year old guys hooking up with 14 year olds. What I am saying is that something needs to give. Either we need to let kids be kids until they're 17-18 or we need to recognize that kids are increasingly more adult-like in their behavior and expectations and should do a better job of educating them on the responsibilities that come with being an adult. When you're talking about maturity levels, it's a social construct. Biologically, boys and girls are fully functioning adults when they hit puberty. Emotionally and mentally though they are usually not fully developed adults because of the taboos and limits that have been put in place by society.

Hell, I'm 16 and I wouldn't even mess around with a 13 year old.

I agree. When I was 19, I was with someone six years older than me. I thought I was so mature (Oh look at me with an older guy lol), and then now, barely 3 years later, I realize I was so immature when I was around him.

I wasn't mature then, and I don't even think that I'm that mature now.

Mentally and physically yeah, I was a woman (well duh, I was 19), but emotionally I think I could have done a better job than getting mad at him for not answering his phone and throwing a fit.

You could be completely psycho (not saying you are Blue) and drive up and down my street drunk at 1am honking your horn waking everyone up in my house just because I didn't answer your calls. Now thats extreme and yes it did happen to me lol.
