Why? It's like the new 8 inch penis.

I was eating downtown and this really hot chick sits down next to me at the bar and we start talking, and after like 5 minutes she asks if I have a myspace so I say no.

To my extreme disbelievement she is amazed at this and says "Oh I'm sorry" and gets up, and walks away. It's like if I was wearing a wedding ring or somthing. What the fuck now.

Who cares if you have some damn e diary where a bunch of people you probably don't know can say how hot you are. I don't care, but it seems like everyone else cares so much to the point where if you don't have one you aren't deserving to live.

i like myspace, its good for keeping in touch with people i dont talk to often who just wanna leave a message and say whats up or show me a vid or some pic, its good for band events and such as well. Ive found alot of people i never thought id talk to again because of myspace. And its fun to create a page that shows your personality.
i havent found much immature about it except the bulletins and whore trains.

I hate myspace, and all other "communities" like it. The only good parts of Myspace is the band and artist part.

I think not having an opinion on myspace would have saved that.

being anti-something popular makes you look just as bad to outsiders who don't care that much.

I didn't say I didn't like it, so to speak. I have nothing against myspace, it's just the incredible fad train that's going along with it, as if you aren't cool if you don't have one. I haven't dated a single person in the past 6 months that didn't seem dissapointed that I didn't have a myspace. This was the first that actually left over it, but they were all at a level of irritated.

I never told her I didn't like myspace. I said I didn't have one. My opinion on myspace was posted here alone, and that opinion is that I would rather not have one. I worded it wrong in the OP.

I have one and i use it to talk to other girls that are not my pseudo-girlfriend/ex/long story. Its beautiful, until she sees it sometime and tries to cut my nads off.

Got in touch with a girl i went to high school with, and had some good times. So i cant say its all bad, although some would argue that i am a dirtbag, which is probably true.

If I hate something, its people who try to fit in because they're scared of being different. And the girl you met just proves that there's so many that do.

You don't have myspace, so you're different. Being different is, for some reason, geeky in some people's eyes. Its the same way with clothes, and a lot of other things. People listen to what clothes are currently in, and follow the trend. They want the newest and hippest, and the current "cool", otherwise they'll be outsiders and different.

I hate it

Get your own fucking style and stick to it. When everyone have the same clothes, something is seriously wrong. I consider Myspace very much the same way, its something that's "hip", and people get it to fit in, to avoid being outsiders, because let's face it, no one want to be an outsider.

Call me a rebel or whatever, but I refuse to be like the majority -.- But I have other reasons to dislike myspace and other communities.

I use Myspace to keep in touch with Highschool and college friends, thats pretty much it. But yeh I have seen the same thing, everyone and thier mother do myspace some people are soo addicted to it.

I've never tried to be like everyone else. For the most part people seem to find that hot/original/brave/whatever else..except for the case of myspace, which pisses me off in alot of ways.

That is true in most cases, but my point was that people are affraid of being different, and thus decide to be like everyone else. And that is what I hate.

Agreed. Some people just can't get out of middle school.

I use it only to keep touch with some friends.
I have one pic of me, skiing, and next to no info or blogs, etc.

Some people use that site as an excuse to take their own vanity to levels that they have completely lost touch with reality. I wish I could vomit on their profiles.

Tymon, sounds like her looks appealed to you and you might have been interested in her. I'd consider this a blessing that you were witness to her true colors, sooner than later.

In all reality? Not really. I have a steady relationship with a really nice girl right now. She came up to me and started talking, personally I was just trying to see if she was intending to hit on me or what. Call me an ass for dragging it on.

I would have been alot more pissed if I was truely interested, but in all seriousness, she was hot.

I love myspace.

End.

Are you only interested in people that feel the same way?

That's the state line between "nothing wrong" and "lamer"

Aw, hell no. It's just convienient, you know?
A few of my friends see it as a necessary evil, but otherwise hate the thing. I think it can be pretty fun sometimes, got in touch with a lot of old friends through it.

I dont see whats so great about. Blogs and message forums have been around forever. Nothing new has came out of me having a Myspace, I have the same exact friend list as everything else I sign up on.

The only purpose I've gotten out of Myspace is seeing teenage girls in thier underwear.

Save that to your comp when you're above 30 and it'll be considered child pornography :p

I used to hate myspace, but then I realized it wasn't the site itself I hated, just a majority of the community. Most of it stems from the wannabe e-thugs (guys who take pictures of themselves with no shirt...), emo pages, and just plain ugly profiles with horrible layouts and unreadable text (white background & YELLOW text?!? SMACK).

I kept getting pestered to make a page, so I made a simple one and made up some fake profile with a over the top story of me time traveling to WW2 and stopping Nazi Germany. I mainly use it to chat with previous co-workers and friends who I barely get a chance to see. I've declined numerous invites from strangers, I just want to keep up with my old buddies. I've been blogging since the days on scribble.nu (think that was in 1998?), so it's come second nature to me.

If anyone has a myspace, one tip I'll say is try to avoid e-drama when it comes to peoples blogs. I've seen that shit tear up friendships for the stupidest reasons, and I can't understand why.
