I don't know anyone who needs it that will be online during next spawn and I most certainly will not let it go to waste, so I figured I might post it for someone to make use of it. For those that don't know spawn conditions, he is will pop at approximately 2:15 after death give or take 10 minutes. He is not a lottery so no need to kill any placeholders, but if you don't there is a likely chance you will link with 1-3 gobs that spawn in the area. Level 67 is min level to go without agro and should probably be atleast that level to kill it(I think I soloed him as a 72 WHM, barely). He is a black mage mob but is resistant to silence so don't bother, but use all other debuffs. Drops Moldavite Earring, +5 magic attack, level 47.

Be warned, this may seem like a great thing and your chance to get the earring, but I did post it for everyone to see. That means more than likely there will be a lot of campers at next spawn because of this. If you plan on getting a fair chance of getting that drop then you should probably consider getting help, subbing warrior for provoke and bring a thief along for TH2. I am now something along the lines of 6/11 on the drop, but I have heard some go as little as 1/23 so please if you are camping and someone else does get claim, let them use your TH2. If they get the drop, that means one less person camping in the future and someone who will be very thankful for your help.

rdm can solo it easy at 68 blm ive seen have had few problems



ps it has very low drop rate
 
Anyone else think that doing stuff like this for all the good dropping NM's? I know it's a kind of double edged sword as most people will go to camp it, however it would save lots of people standing around for ages. Meh maybe it's something to consider?
 
Well... Good luck to whoever decides to camp this dude. He can spam some nasty AoE, so if you have anyone waiting with you for the drop, I'd suggest they stand near the entrance :P .

There should be a forums for posting ToDs on and other such nm stuff.
 
Hellstorm is right that the mob is an easy solo for RDM in the mid 60s and higher, though I'd recommend /BLM to help with links. His magic isn't a factor if you're properly buffed, which goes without saying if you play RDM.

Not likely. If one person is camping a rare/ex item and gets it, then they might share ToD with a friend only so they can get the item, too. If an LS camps an HNM and they get ToD, they're going to want as little competition as possible and try to hide the ToD. If someone got claim on the Valkurm Emperor (pre Empress Pin update) and got the drop, they'll probably wait around for another pop and not want to shout it out to all of the dunes. Even though Aquarius drops only the rare/ex axe now, people try to keep ToD between friends so they can go get it.

Not saying it won't or doesn't happen (this thread is evidence of that), I'm just saying don't expect it to happen often.

I keep hearing about his horrible drop rate.... but I've read a lot of people going 1/1, 2/3...etc. I personally got it second try.
 
I think it depends on the NM whether or not to tell the ToD on the boards. In the case of this guy (he's a beast to camp), I think it's a nice idea Lavi had.
 
Thank you. As far as posting times of death of NM is concerned, it would depend on the NM and/or the reason. Certain NMs like Mysticmaker have no money drops and once you recieve the item, your time camping him is over(unless of course you need to help others) and the information for him can be passed on. Also because he drops no money items and the item recieved is EX, it is very important you help people on this NM. If you offer someone TH2 to get the drop and they do get the drop, that is one less camper in the future and a better chance for you to get yours.

However, as far as NM/HNMs with money drops that have a given spawn time(NMs that spawn at X amount of time after death or possibly HNM which spawn 21-24 hrs), giving that information is not in your best interest since it means more competition. But this isn't always the case. There are times(Phraust posted a HNM ToD not long ago) where the information is useless to you and maybe helpful to someone else. For instance, your LS lacks enough members to kill Simurgh because his spawn is at 10 AM and maybe another LS can use that info. Maybe your LS doesn't camp that HNM or its ToD conflicts with another HNM you are camping. My favorite reason: No one is camping the NM except gil sellers. Whatever the reason, it would still be welcome information if anyone posts information that could help others.
