Just got my BLU out of the dunes *shudders* and things were a LOT worse than I remember them being.

Ok, now, I can understand those of us that have been around a while and have lvled every job in existense through the dunes on one character or another wanting a PL there to just gtfo of that hell hole. Or even the rare pt here and there with a PL attached to one of the members, but things are just getting fuckin' ridiculous. There are people running around out there at fricken lvl 25 that have no clue that it's even possible to lvl without a PL.

Sorry, It just pisses me off how many people refuse to lvl in the dunes without a PL. How a leader will disband the pt because a PL can't be found when you have a perfectly good setup for lvling without one. How half the party will AGREE with him. How a leader will not invite any mage at all on the assumption that he can find a PL, or not invite a tank because the PL will be tanking. That's just plain laziness. No offense to people who PL friends or are PLed from time to time. I've PLed and been PLed in my time, yes, but not to the point that I refuse to lvl without one, or make a party that is not self sufficient on its own without one, or make a party wait during time that could be used to be lvling perfectly fine without for a PL to get there.

How hard is it to level in the dunes on your own power instead of being a lazy ass gimptard coasting on the achievements of others rather than learning how to play yor job for the betterment of yourself and those around you once you leave the dunes?

People acting stupid in the dunes!?!?

In other news: Water is wet

But seriously, a PL is never absolutely necessary if you have a good pt setup, even in the dunes. If you are doing so horribly that you need a PL in order to get good xp, you suck, end of story. Either that or someone else in your pt sucks. Just disband the party or replace the person who sucks because it's not even worth looking for a PL.

PLing creates bad habits with tanks and healers, it doesn't teach them how to do their job effectively, if the PL tanks and heals then people won't learn how to do their jobs since someone else is doing their job for them. Especially for new players in the dunes.

Yeah the amount of PLing around is overboard. My whm was leveling in the jungles earlier and I already had a backup healer in the pt. So after doing well for 30 minutes to an hour they bring in a pld to pl the pt. At this piont I completely stop curing and spam dia+ banish and meleeing for skillups. It took one hour for them to notice that I wasn't casting any cure spells so they asked me to start curing again I obliged for a few minutes and stopped meleing so it wouldnt be so obvious anymore since the PL was casting cure at the exact same time I was and as usual in any pt noone EVER lets my regen actually heal back any hp. People STOP using PL's unless you have absolutely no acess to a mage in your pt. Its boring as hell for the mage and if you can't survive without the PL you dont deserve to be in a PT.
Whats the point of playing a mage job if the spells are made worthless?

noobtard... I love that word

Powerlevelling is retarded and breeds laziness and poor players, especially when new players get PLed.
And I still feel, even for veterans, you're never such an awesome professional that you're too good for the basics. Sorry.

I PL myself <.< I prefer soloing for 10k/hr in the dunes over partying xD

chain 5 for 200+ exp ftw.

Although it does depend on the job. Its hard to get 10k/hr soloing as WHM or any other MP dependent job xD

Edit: Yeah, I don't like noobtards either. When I join a party, I usually don't PL. I put my mages through bootcamp. I teach them MP management the only way it can be taught; by forcing them to main heal and constantly keep pulling things without allowing them to rest, thus constantly putting them in situations where they run low on MP. At the start of the party I have to backup heal a lot, but towards the end I usually only have to throw out a cure or 2 every now and then :p I think mages hate me =/

Yep I understand this completely the experience of the player overall determines how well a pt will work as a whole

example lving whm in dunes 13 (shutup....>_>) was taking on gobs yesterday with a fairly experienced pt and then chaining lizzies rapidly and the pt was 11-13 now i get on at about 12:00pm CST the next day and get an invite to a pt thats 12-14 and we fight at the same zone we couldnt even put a gob past 50%.... thats with the pl that showed up and helped our sorry asses T mobs were like IT mobs.../shudder

My current pt "Anyone know of a pl". We dont need one we just need to stop making my war/thf tank bloody goblins which rape me and all of our mages MP!

muwahahahaha... want me to comment on that XD

DDs and PL onry~

I PL my other char when it's at a low lvl and solo sometimes if it's a DD job like mnk. Then afterwards when my other char is in the pty, I just bring my 75 char along with my other char and keep it around just in case of emergencies if a raise is needed or the mages are out of mp.

I basically just bring the other char to keep my char alive though, lol. I'll go /whm so if I see a bad status affect and the whm isn't curing it, I'll just cure it myself. I'm lvlling PLD on my other char as main, and I do quite well and will try to cure and keep hate as tank on this char instead to get shield, healing, and other skill ups.

Now the worst thing SE can create to prevent PLering is to allow cure be pty/alliance member only o.O

Don't give them ideas.:shok:

I think that PL'ing is only acceptable if the people in the party know what their doing and having the PL makes things great instead of just normal. If you cant even take on T's with your pt, then your SOL as far as teh rest of the game is concerned. I had a pt in the dunes disband once because no one could find a PL and I got yelled at by the leader cuz I wouldn't look for one.

Fuckin idiots.

I PL my friend from school sometimes.....but I never try to take hate and keep it. I still have the PT preform their jobs as if I were not there, and I help keep everyone cured so they can take on mobs that are a bit tougher. My friend is BLM/WHM, and when he is the WHM in the PT, I still expect him to cure people like he would do normally, and that helps prevent him from being bored and not having much to do other than dia/banish the whole time.

what uzor said lol

Nah, that'd sortof make Dynamis 20x tougher at best.
And if your mages don't cure outside of alliance, drag them out to the street and shoot them. :nyam:

I hate when WHMes decide that skilling up divine magic is a much better use of their MP when you have a PL -.-
